In one of my tarot books ( by Rosie Björkman) there is a part called "witch medicine" for every card in the major and minor arcana. For the cards in the major arcana there is also different practices... Anyways I thought I'd share some of the witch medicine from the book. The medicine usually consists of some sort of ritual or meditation, and you can do it every time you draw this card, but it is especially effectful if you draw a card in its negative sense...

Starting with the Aces.

Ace of coins/pentacles:

Baby Meditation
Lie down on mother earth (on the floor, outdoors on your lawn ...). Now feel like a little baby would feel, laying on its mothers belly. Feel that you are safe, that the mother is always safe, solid and green... Stretch your body. Make sure that your back is fully stretched out. Now experience your body like a baby would, look at your hands, look at all the fingers. Look at your amazing body!
Now try to massage your back against the floor, let your back roll against the floor/ground. Relax, and feel all your fears leaving you, feel the stress leaving you, feel your worries leaving you.
Rest awhile on Mother Earths belly before getting on with your daily life... It is done!

Ace of cups:

Pearl meditation
Sit or lay comfortably. Relax your body. Imagine yourself having a pearl in your third eye. Relax your thoughts , let them wonder as they wish, dont cling on to any of them. Focus on your pearl in your third eye and at the same time take deep breaths all the way down below your belly button. Keep breathing, and keep seeing your pearl in your third eye. After awhile, you move your attention down in your body. So take a deep breath let the pearl travel with your breath in, down through your throat and land in your heart. Take deep breaths and focus on the pearl in your heart. Stay here awhile, feel the pearls power in your heart. After awhile, take a deep breath, and again let the pearl travel with your breath deeper down, through your belly and land in your womb. Let it land in your inner ocean. Stay relaxed, take deep breaths, focus on the pearl. Let it sparkle and vibrate inside you. Let it melt and become one with the rest of your inner ocean. Take deep breaths, relax, be calm and allowing. You and the pearl ocean become one! Stay here a few minutes if you can, give yourself a moment here before returning to your ordinary life. It is done!

Ace of Swords:

Cleansing your aura.
Every witch, shaman, from all the different traditions around the world knows the importance of cleansing once aura. And they also know that if someone comes to them for help, thats where you begin, with cleansing the aura. So that is what you are gonna do now! The traditional way (within "sötmedicinen", my own translation "sweet medicine") is to use a feather and some incense. Imagine your aura about as big as you can reach out with your arms from your own body, in all directions (don't forget above you and below you). Now take your feather and start brushing your aura... all the way around you, if you like take help from someone, brush eachothers auras. If you haven't got a feather you can use your hand, or you can use some incense (sage is really good for this purpose). You can also just let the incense burn while you are brushing your aura with the feather or your hand. Feel free to brush off things in your home, and even whole rooms, cleanse it from negativity and shadows of all kinds. It is done!

Ace of wands:

The wand
When Rosie, the author was to make her own wand she thought about all the trees she could use, about wich one to pick. When she had decided she went out into the forest, meditated and asked the trees for help with finding a wand. After her meditation was done she found the perfect wand for her. She took it, and left a feather and a rose as thanks and some cookies to the "little ones" in the forest. At home she painted her wand in turqoise and sprayed it with golden patterns and attached little purple ribbons to it. She also tied a feather from a pheasant to it. And it was done! Now when you draw this card. Go out into the forest and make yourself your own wand, use your imagination and decorate it to your own needs. Good luck!

A little more medicine tips on the Aces: (from the same book)

Ace of cups:
To attract love
If you wish to attract love, light a purple candle when the moon is waxing. Place a glass filled with water nearby and light som rose or jasmine incense. On a paper, paint a red heart. Say this or something like it out loud: When I see this open, happy heart I feel how a new begining to love flows inside me...
Plant your paper with the heart outdoors in the ground, where wild flowers grow. And sing something like: Love in truth, love in beuty, beuty in love...
Now feel your heart growing.... It is done!

Ace of swords:
Crystal meditation
Sit comfortably. Close your eyes, and breath deep breaths down in your belly... cross your arms over your heart. Feel your chest rising... Listen to your breathing like this for a long time, up to eight minutes if you can. Meditate crystl in your third eye.
Invite the stargoddess Astarte. Ask her to help you decide which one of your many ideas is the one you should go for. Sit there for awhile and let the answer come to you, let the answer vibrate in your belly. Meditate crystal everytime you feel worried or have doubts about your idea. It is done!
