Oy, VEY.
... and I mean it.
We were all excited about FINALLY going back home, to Calgary Alberta, and then BAM... Pol was denied access into Canada, after 2 days on the bus.
So, after spending the night at a truck stop in the dinkiest town of Pembina ND... and talking all night with the other regects who also failed at getting in, (one of which gave us much hope after explaining how he'd been in the same situation but had been working there for 3 months!) we decided that there must be SOME reason we were meant to be in Colorado Springs, CO. It was there that we pretty much decided to move. MOVE. To Colorado Springs. MOVE there. :strike:
So, we payed 46 dollars to get to Grand Forks, ND, and while there got in touch with Pol's mom who generously payed for us to get back to CO. We left CO Monday at 3pm and got back Saturday at 9am. (If you can imagine sleeping on a bus for 5 days, eating mostly junk food that you get at the Convenience stores on the way, you can imagine that our brains are mush as well as our insides  )
Why Colorado Springs you ask? Purely luck... or fate! We were staying with Pol's sister there, and had no other place to go.
Now, in less than 2 weeks Pol has to get a job AND an apartment, or at least an apartment, because I have to go back for various dental appointments, and to get our affairs in order.... And his sister and her family are moving in September. Blech!
Not to mention the fact that I'd like to move here but it all depends on whether or not my orthodontist knows someone here who can take care of me! (He had mentioned coming down to Colorado Springs every year, so hopefully!) If he doesn't... I guess I have to interview ones on my own, which would be very time consuming due to the various complications and extensiveness of my jaw and teeth problems. I'm getting off track though _tsk_
Also, I have to get a green card or something, which I have no idea how to do. (I mean, I'm still only 19. I hadn't planned on moving to the states for quite a few years!) I don't even know if a Green Card will allow me to get dental work done? The government websites are no use... and I always get hopelessly lost trying to find what I need to know!
This has been a serious kick in the butt, but we figured it was one we needed... We were being serious bums (and got quite good at it!) it's just we need a little help! Moral support if anything else. Info on getting a Green Card.... anyone who lives in or near Colorado Springs who knows of job connections? or apartments? (for very cheap  )
Anyway, my brain is still mush, and I need my sleep. It was good to get it all out! I have yet to tell my mother  :holycow:
