Ok, I was in the local shop the other day and they had a "Tarot" disk. Well, It was cheap so I bought it wondering if it may actually be worth something in the long run. Its made by "Snap". Well, It seems to be pretty cool and it even has a layout for your cards and it reads them whether they are reversed or not. I have used it a few times, and sometimes it hits the nail on the head. I was just wondering if anyone has used something like this before and gotten anything out of it or should I even continue its use??

i had a few programs like that... i didn't use them much because at the time i wasn't really that into tarot. And now that i know a lot more about tarot, i wouldn't use the programs because i don't believe the cards themselves are really as important as the interpretations, and i know that one card can mean something different in each reading, and a computer generated reading is just going to spit out a generalized meaning. of course, if you were using it to study with to learn tarot, then i imagine it might be able to help because then you can not only learn general meanings for the cards, but be able to apply them in a reading... so basically, it depends on how you intend to use the software.

Many years ago (back when there was Windows 3.11) I had a public domain tarot program, I also had one for my palm pilot. Both of them used the Rider-Waite deck. They were okay for "emergencies" when I had access to a computer but not a deck. I prefer to use actual cards, as I have a better connection with them.
Now when I'm at work and have a reading emergency, I use facade.com because of the number of decks and layouts that they offer, as well as different methods, including runes and i ching readings.

I've messed around with programs for reading tarot--free demos I picked up on the web and whatnot. It just doesn't work for me.
For one, the computer doesn't factor in anything intuitive. For example, it will read the 3 of Swords the same way for two different people. For one person the 3 of Swords could be discussing the necessary end of a dysfunctional relationship; for another it could be related to, say, abdominal surgery. :whatgives So, there's no human factor.
Also, I just like the feel of cards in my hands. It's organic and seems more solid and real. I'm sure I could give my own interpretations of the cards that show up in a computer reading, but I would miss the experience of shuffling them and touching them. And I can get lost starting into a tarot card while divining its meaning...but I don't think I could get lost in a computer image.
I'm sure there are people who work successfully with computer programs; it's just not my thing. :)

I don't always use the computer's interpretation ... I just let it draw the cards and go on from there.

Did you know that in the links section there is a pretty cool link to a site that has Tarot computer programs. They are free and you can design your own cards, give your own meanings, change the spreads etc etc...
It's worth the look :)

Yeah, I used it sometimes - but like most of you said there is no human connection, and it does not really give you a good interpretation because its a general meaning. Its fun to use, but yeah...WELL thanks for the advice and info!
