I am sure many of you have heard the song One Tin Soldier, but for those of you that haven't, and even those of you that have, please check out this link. This song touched me deeply inside and I listened to it over and over again, just reading the words at least 20 times. If only everyone on Earth could hear and understand these words.

Thanks for sharing that! It was a beautiful, poignant song then & still is now. I still have the old 45 somewhere. :)

I'm not a 100% sure who wrote it but it was sung by Billy Jack. It was also the theme song to the movie of the same name. It's quite old. I'm not sure but I think it was late 60's.

To me it just sends such a powerful message. It's a story, but think of these people giving up their lives for what? Peace? It seems like everyone on this planet always does the opposite, giving up their lives for hatred. I think when a time comes that people are willing to stand up and sacrifice their lives for peace, we might truly find it.
I donno.. just some sentimental musings...

On the 45, it said Billy Jack. I know he was part of a group...wonder if that could be the name? I'll have to ask my hubby. He's the music buff here.
Manoi, that song makes me sad everytime I hear it. I always think of how long it's been around. And how things still haven't changed. The sixties mantra was Peace but look at us now. :(

i don't think Billy Jack was part of the group. he was the character in the movie 'Walking Tall' that this was the theme song for. and the time period was the early seventies.
