This has actually happened to me. I was a freshman in highschool, and my roommate and I were up late making a recording from a record to a tape. (I went to a boarding school.) When we played back the song, there was a strange, low voice on in that said "lau, dau, dau". We had no idea what it was or where it came from. We suggested maybe it was some type of police radio that the tape had picked up. The only problem with that was we were recording off of a record, not the radio! It was really bizarre.
