I LOVE that site, dellit. My husband and I have read that site for some time. Did you read the one about Christmas? Really good stuff there!

but the guy needs an education in mythology. Jesus is Zeus was laughably incorrect. Made a heck of a leap from egypt to greece, and the "Amen" was hysterical. IMHO

but the other stuff was neat, not accurate but neat or sarcastic.
really reminded me of some of ILL's stuff.

Nifty theory.

Though....can someone answer my nagging questions?

Is the name Amen Ra or is it Amon Ra? ( not that it matters much, as I figure that interpretations of old languages are bound to be at best, guesses)

Wasn't Zuess an ego driven selfish god? Or at least a pompous petty jerk ( maybe I am thinking of the remake?) ;)

Is this a clever spoof of the "conspiracy" sites?

Thanks Dellit, :)
Bless,
Cybele

Zeus was the god representing Jupiter. Since the Greeks assumed that the pagan representation of Jesus Chrsit of Nazareth is personified in the image of Zeus, most of the modern "pictures of Jesus" are acutally taken from the Greek's idea of Zeus. Jesus was a Jewish person, and therefore, He was probably dark complected with typically Jewish facial features including a narrow ocular. Isaiah 53:2 states that He appeared as just a common person, without any special physical features that would draw people to Him, which is unlike the pagan ideas of His appearance.

If Jesus can be said to be any other god, I've found that the closest correlation is between him and Mithra. Both stories are almost exactly the same in most details, Son of God, Sun God, both born of a virgin mother, and both were common in the Middle East at the same time. I do have more details on this, but right now I am at work, and it can be hard to type a huge amount. ;) Later.

There are also striking similarities between Jesus, and Krishna, in some ways.

Just out of curiousity, why in Goddess' name are some people "laughing" at the beliefs suggested here about Jesus being Zeus then agreeing that Jesus is Osiris? Is it just because of "historical facts", and if so, do you always base your beliefs on historical facts only and not on opinions, feelings, interpretations, understandings, and beliefs of other people and yourself?

One of the prophesies concerning the coming of Jesus of Nazareth was originally given by Moses at the time of the Exodus by the Israeli nation from Egypt (c. 1483 BC,) which occured about 1500 years before he was actually born. (Deuteronomy 18:15-18). Also, when He did come on the scene, about 2009 years ago, He was born of a virgin (Mary) as can be read in (St. Luke 1:26-38), and this was foretold about 900 years before it occured (Isaiah 7:14). However, the most miraculous feature about his life and death was His resurrection from the dead. This was no NDE!. Because on the cross of execution, He was beaten so bad that He could not be identified by appearance,(Isiah 53:1-12). in other words his face and body was a beaten mess. ( St. Luke 23:26-49). His resurrected body was unlike any that had been created by God, as this is the same promise to receive the same indestructable body to all of His followers -God's people. (St. Paul's letter to the Thessalonian church, Thessalonians 4:13-18) You can read about this miraculous new body in St. Luke 24:1-43. This is better than the reincarnation theory because it circumvents the necessity to return. Besides, the reincarnation theory is just that.( St. Luke 16:29-31) It source is found in Genesis 3:4-5, for those who are interested in such things,

No one in this thread. The people I'm referring to know who I'm referring to.

That's the only mention of laughable here, and if I'm not mistaken flar7 meant the article was laughable, not the idea. But that's not what I'm referring to :)

he made a general statement, and then, presto! Was lacking in a few of the journalistic areas, so to speak. Need to research, and state the wheres and whens, and give the oppossing(sp) view some thought(or print if you're brave enough). But thats just my take on it.
