Hey all, glad to be back and that includes the board too. Overall it was a good trip. We went to my mothers for 2 days which included my sisters 31st birthday party then we delayed leaving for New Orleans on Sunday the 10th because of the hurricane. After we saw it didn't hit them and our B&B owner Karyn confirmed we headed down the next day. My family kept the girls for that week. Adam and I had lots of fun on our trip, we saw 2 plantations (Destrhean & Oak Alley), did a swamp tour, haunted French Quarter tour led by Karen, rode the Natchez, went with Karen to Sallie Ann Glassmans Voodoo Hurricane ritual to Dantour (sp?) ( which totally rocked, there were possessions), ate lots of good food, sweated our butts off & walked ourselves to death. LOL

We went over to Gulf Shores (its looked to wrecked from hurricanes) for 1 day since my husband had never been there before, we stayed 1 night & headed back to my moms for 4 more days and came home with the girls yesterday. Loralie is spoiled rotten now since my mother didn't adhere to any rules we have her follow and fed her junk the whole time & so I'm a little irritated over that part.

I have lots of pictures and will have to post then here later, I can post web sites to our B&B, and places we went if you like for reference of your going there. I also met Voodoo priestess Miriam Williams too. Her and Sallie Ann Glassman were very nice. Miriam is a little off tho but so funny. I can give more details on the trip later but gotta run for now.

Missed you all. :)

PS.... had to come back to add that the only bad part of the trip was that I was told that my grandfather was diagnosed with Emphysema he's 76 & for the 1st time ever my grandmother didn't cook a family dinner when I came home because my mom said she's finally stopped doing it because of her age, she's 75. So we had to go out to eat instead. I only go home once or twice a yr and this time it hit me how old they look and I know when each passes I'm not going to take it well, neither will the rest of the family.

No we didn't. Right before our tour went up stairs an employee there said he saw someone ghostly cross the hall way but when we went up we felt nothing. Here are some pics from there, the last pic is an oak from the Destrean planatation tho. There so beautiful. There said to be 300 yrs old but have a life span of 600.

On our French Quarter ghost tour we tried snapping pictures to see what we could catch. My & my husbands radar went off like mad. We may have gotten 2 small orbs in our friend Karens' friends home we went to after the tour. He was out of town and she had to go let the dog out so we went with her and checked out his place. He lived in on eof the rear buildings behind the main house in the French Quarter, those were the slave quarters.

In the 1st picture we took 2 pics of the same room and the spot on the wall wasn't in the 2nd one and in pic 2 the small circle on the bottom of the bed we still have to find out fom Karen if that was a permanent spot on the wood or not. After my husband was done with pictures inside we were leaving and a spirit walked past him out the door and then past me and that was it. That night I got more of my intense feelings that I get now that takes my breath away and I think I do that when one walks thru me. The 3rd pic we took 3 times and these eyes showed up in all 3 so the next night we went back and took another of the same window and they were there again so we assume it was something on the glass or in the window but it does look neat.

Thanks for sharing the pictures! Seeing the oak trees made me want to move back to where I used to live. I'm glad you had a good time!

There is a great Gem & Lapidary shop in the French Quarter

http://www.neworleansgem.qpg.com/ (http://www.neworleansgem.qpg.com/)

I bought a silver, moldavite ring in there and was able to find an exact pic of it on the internet. We also got some tumbled stones we didn't have and my husband got a 4in or so amethyst point. Their prices are excellent in that place.

Welcome back! I've never been to New Orleans before, but it sounds like an unforgettable place, unlike anywhere else in the world. Someday I'll have to go.
