halo's to all i'm new here and to the idea of pagan, wicca etd
and i was wondering about the god and goddess!
can you pick (out of the millions) your own god and goddess to practice under and to belive in???
do you have to chose a certain group i feel more for the celtic gods and goddess but i dont know which ones to follow......
i've been told that theres the triple ie maiden, mother, crone and the youth, warrior, conusellor for the gods and goddess but which names these gods and goddess do i practice under or start to reseach????
Morrigan is one i know about and i love the name (i chose this name for my fisrt born girl when i was 15 i'm now 23) i'd like to do something with that name but i'm not sure where to start!!!

Yes you can. Though some say the deity has to pick you.

Fortunately there are no rules in pagan religion that tell you what you have to believe, what you have to practice or whom you have to worship. Today you may feel drawn to Celtic traditions, tomorrow it may be Greek and next year it could be African. Start your research there where you feel it's appropriate for you RIGHT NOW. Good luck! :)

Ya if they are the welcoming type of deity you can choose to work with them, however with some it is best to be introduced by some one who already follows their path (and if they are fakes I doubt that the gods will mind but the gesture of respect is what they respond to). However there are some that you should be carefull with, Isis, Guadalupe, Diana, and others might not like someone they didnt invite snooping around their worship. However if you approach with respect and humility I doubt they would mind. A final word, usually they tend to come to you so if you are drawn to a particular deity they might be trying to get your attention.

I'm new to Wicca myself. There are two goddesses I am strongly drawn to; Brighid because of who she is, her characteristics, everything I have read about her. And also Rhiannon. I'm not sure why with this one, but for years before I ever started being drawn to Wicca, the name Rhiannon always sort of "pulled" me. How should I go about finding out which goddess may be the one that I am chosen by?

Why don't you "worship" Brighid AND Rhiannon? They are deities of the same pantheon so I don't see a problem.
