View Full Version : My brother is an idiot

He goes around with my friend Cameron, trying to find jumps all the time. As boys, they egg each other on to do bigger jumps each time. My brother just recently got new shocks for his bike so he thinks he's invinsible when it comes to jumping. Well, turns out he's not. We got a frantic phone call about half an hour ago saying he had seriously injured himself. He "seriously injured" himself last weekend going off a jump, too. He came home limping with this huge bloody mess all over his shin, going "my bone is showing, my bone is showing!" It was this tiny little cut about as big as your thumbnail. He just bleeds a lot. The thing he though was bone poking out? Just a bit of rough skin he refused to touch, so he only *thought* it was bone.
When you hear someone say "my bone is showing", you automatically think they cut away a large chunk of skin so you can see where their bone is, way deep down there, right? Well, I do at least. So when I saw this little bit of rough skin he though was bone I laughed. I know, I know, I don't sound like the nicest sister. But really, he's a drama queen!
Anyway, so half an hour ago he said his bone was showing AGAIN. My mom just rolled her eyes. She knows he's a drama queen too, but she went off to rescue him anyway. They're on their way to the hospital now, probably. Anyway, my friend was actually the one who called me. He was screaming like a little girl. What is it with the men in my family? He kelt saying "his bone is showing!" too. I'll update when I hear from my mom. She said she'd call from the hospital.
I bet the most he gets is a lolipop.:halohead:

Anyhooo...I hope he didn't like.. break his leg bone and it's poking thru his leg....cuz thats just gross. Boys are such babies..... If he did hurt himself...tell him its just a battle scar and besides....according to the movie "The Replacements"...."Wounds heal, chicks dig scars, glory lasts forever"

For those who are expressing gratitude for having girls, let me say they can be just as bad. My oldest is a total tomboy. She's got scars all over from one thing or another. One year she took all the skin off both knees when she rollerbladed down a huge hill into gravel! I've lost count of how many boys she's beaten up defending her little sister. And when she'd go to her dad's house to visit, she'd usually end up playing tackle football in the street with the boys next door.
Hope your brother is okay.

just wait until he decided to go ramp riding lol..
i tell ya this brings back memories..a couple my friends were always setting up crazy jumps and trying all sorts of tricks on the half pipe ramps.. some of their crashes would have made great footage for those stupid things people do caught on tape shows lol.. although their idea of a serious injury was when something required at least 20 stitches and that the bleeding couldn't be stopped with a cigarette lighter or if they had to be carried to the er because they were unconscious because they had been knocked off the back of the ramp which was about a 12 foot drop..
heh i think they hit idiot, flew past crazy and kept going to completely insane but boys will be boys i expect it is something that i will be getting calls like this very soon from my boys..
just stock up on lollipops and bandaids and hope they don't actually become 'real' serious injuries..

What kind of a biker is he?
At the end of March, mine ended up in the emergency room with a completely obliterated ACL after missing a jump (mountain biking) but he doesn't make a big deal out of anything. He thought it was pretty funny...and actually started laughing when he found out he needed major reconstructive surgery.

Hate to tell you all, but Many men are babies too. When they finally get hurt, or sick, they can be the biggest pain in the butts. "gotta luv 'em" We all know that is why our superior being (God or Godess or what ever)made women to have babies, otherwise the world would not have been populated.....They would quit after one

My little sister IS invincible. She got hit by a group of girls in an SUV while riding her bicycle one night when she was in college and split her head open on the curb, I get a call in the middle of the night and she is screaming incoherently "They cut my Wonder Woman shirt off!" It took me a good five minutes to figure out she was in the hospital with 14 staples in her head and needed me to come get her. The nurses laughed with me when I got there, not only had she screamed at the EMT's about her shirt, but she wouldn't let the doctors shave her head for the staples either. Stubborn child, she was technically dead when the ambulance got to the scene (no pulse, no respiration) but when she was revived all she cared about was the damn shirt and her hair.

That's nothing. My brother and his friend basically vandalized my neighbor's house while they were on vacation and we were supposed to be taking care of their pets.

my dad is the opposite! we were at my uncles house one new years and an artillery shell went off too soon and decided to blow right next to my dad (the one holding the box w/ the rest of the shells) so instead of dropping the fireworks and running he runs w/ them, not looking were he was going, trips, falls, and limps away. he trys to walk it off and chin up, but it turned out he broke it in several places! (the thing that gets me it how does someone do that and walk?!? :bug: gah! thats a stubborn scottsman for ya!)

my parents saw a boy on a skateboard holding on to the back of an SUV, ducked down so the driver couldn't see him, almost get hit when the car turned and he went straight. kid was paying more attention to the cheering friends, than the traffic coming towards him.

Its called adrenaline, gives you that ability to "fight or flight" when in danger, so you are kind of in shock and all. My late husband rolled his car, got out and carried his bowling ball home. Turned out he had broken his shoulder......
