Hey all... I made a protection charm a while ago using a little spell and a scroll sealed with candle wax... this might seem insignificant but now i have other charms which I prefer and i wondered if it was "safe" to destroy it.. and if theres a particular way I should be doing that. Seems ironic.....

Could burn it, bury it, cleanse it, incorporate it into your new protective magick, or if you're like me just throw it out with the intent of ending it's magickal use. :)

You could do an "unspell" on it. Go back through the steps you did to make the protection charm & take out the energies you've put it. You can write up something about how well it had worked for you, transferring the old energies into your new charm.

i've run into this problem before, and i finally decided to put the 'finished project' into a special box i made for 'retirement'. i do a very small ritual for the continuation of the intent, and in the box it goes. this hasn't happened too often, so the box isn't very full. but i prefer this to just 'throwing away' something i've put my soul into.
