These are all exercises that I have found helpful in the past. They help to improve focus and concentration. Most of them may help improve memory, clarity, and speed of thinking since (according to my Psych. 20 Prof) they create new pathways in the brain. In other words, they can help make you more intelligent, while focus will help during rituals and meditation. The important thing to remember, however, is that the point isn't in being able to do them, but in the process of learning them. Some of them are simple, and some of 'em are just plain silly, but most of them generally have the same effect. Remember, the more you get annoyed, the more you're learning. Enjoy!
hehe....
1. Cute little tricks to freak out your friends. :)
a) Learn how to wiggle your nose; Without moving the rest of your face.
b) Learn how to wiggle your ears; When you get the hang of this, graduate to doing one at a time.
c) Learn how to move your fourth finger and your pinky by themselves, without moving anything else on your hand.
d) You know that toe right next to the big one? Learn how to wiggle that one without moving any other toes. Watch out for toe cramps if you get too determined on this one. ;)
e) Learn how to pat your head and rub your tummy.
f) Learn how to stand on one foot for a while.
g) Teach yourself how to wink.
h) This one sounds way easier than it actually is; I still haven't got the hang of it yet. Teach yourself how to rotate your fingers in opposite directions. You know like when people twirl their thumbs? Well, do it with your left hand/finger going backwards, and your right one going forwards. This started as a party trick that I still haven't mastered.
2. Annoying little games that'll drive you nuts.
a) Learn to write with your other hand.
b) Try to Draw or Write things while only looking in a mirror.
c) Do those 3D picture things.
d) For Non-Analytical types: do math, try to rotate 3D images in your mind, master the game of tetris.
e) For Analytical types: write poetry, learn to play an instrument, paint.
f) Stare at an object (any object) while consciously focussing and
unfocussing your eyes. Study the changes in appearance of the object as you do this.
g) This one's lots of fun. Read this sentence, and then name the colours, not the words: red yellow green blue purple. hehe... This one's even more fun with markers and paper.
3. General stuff for self-frustration.
a) Start driving with the other hand. When you get really used to that one; switch again.
b) Stare at a word, reading it over and over again until it loses all
meaning. Then try to find the meaning again.
c) Learn another language. I highly suggest Japanese, since even the writing system is different from English. Not to mention the Grammar....(groan).
