Has anyone stopped to ask how you came up with the Forum Name?

Lets stop to ponder this for a moment. Mystic Wicks hmmmmm.........
It could be a great title for an ALL Candle Magick Forum. Giving the basics of Candle Magick, The history, Making your own candles, Spells co-ordinating to colors and needs. Even saling them.

But, Alas I don't think you had that in mind.

A Name is a Name is a Name. Without your name you have no recognition no way for someone to come back to you with the knowledge of you.

[a sayin' i'm still workin on lol...]

Twice I've seen the true answer stated in this thread. It was started out as a place for Mol and Semele to sell candles. Hence the 'wicks' part. Also from what I've heard they never acctually sold any candles hehe.

Hundreds of years from now linguists and historians are going to be arguing about the etymology of "wicks" in "mysticwicks"

There used to be a far better about us section that detailed the history of the story of origin but like the rest of the site, it too has changed with the winds of time.

Long story short...like a hundred years ago I was making candles and my husband was like..hey you could make those and sale them online and I could make you a webpage so he did so, even before I really caught on to the whole idea. He kind of jumps on things like that! :) Anyway..he added a forum while he was waiting for products to photograph and then it kind of took over and the candles fell behind and the rest as they say is history. There. Now you know!

And the problem is?

I like the fact that we don't know but the candle shop is great. Now they provide a different light.

Wow. It's amazing how things endup this way, isn't it? I've thought about the name, but I never really thought enough about it to really care. I guess you DO learn a little something everyday.

And good idea Flaire! :D

Aww, what happened to the candles, Semele? I bet that if you created a cool candle for the next sabbat, you would have great success selling it here.

Wow, It really was about candles. I guess when you get a calling it doesn't always keep you on the path your going. You know what would be nice is if you did actually start selling those candles. I think they'd be a really big hit now with the community g and vast with knowledge.

Mystic Wicks has turned into a really great place. I wonder what it will be like say five years from now will it still be like this or do you have even bigger plans? What ever though are and however it turns out I'm sure Mystic Wicks will still be going strong.

:flowers: :drinking: :fphone Did you hear about Mysticwicks.com? :yikess: mystic wicks mystic wicks fan club.
