I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to hit the the poor deer. :wah: It was so dark out, I never saw it until it was right in front of me. I hit the breaks. I'm so sorry. It did walk away. I don't think I hit it that bad, I did get a lot of fur. But, no blood. I know you know, I'm sorry and maybe you were looking out for that deer because I yelled your named as I hit, the poor thing. I know there was little I could of done. But, I feel so bad. :wah: Well, it did walk away so, maybe it is ok.

I live in Deer populated woods (many many deer... cougers too).
I have only had the unfortunate exerience of being in a vehicle when it hit a deer ONCE. And it was years ago, while rideing the school bus to school. I was looking out my window... and saw a pair of deer running beside the road, one darted into the road... a truck coming the other way slammed on its breaks... missing the deer. Our school bus screamed with the breaks.... eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrr (bump) rrrrrrrch.... and we came to a stop. From 3/4 of the way to the back of the bus... a tuft of fur floated by the window on the breeze. The deer hobbled to the side of the road and collapsed. The bus driver continued on... not much you can do when you have a bus load of kids you have to take to school. He looked pale when I got off the bus.
I have had wondeful experiences aswell. Like the buck which used to sleep right outside my window. I would wake sometimes and see this giant antlered head practically peering in at my sleeping form as it munched on the leaves.
We used to get dead deer (natural) by my old elementry school. If they died on school property someone would come take it away. But if it died off of school property they didnt touch it as it was "part of nature". There was one carcass which lay down an embankment about a meter away from the parking lot (just off of school grounds) for years. Some dog (I assume) stole its head, so that was a fairly pleasant sight to see for several years.
Well... peace :)
