Carmelized onions go well in rice. Tandori seasoning, sazon, chili powder, chopped green chilies

Depending on your tastes here are my suggestions:

Oregano, parsley, rosemary and thyme - maybe some majoram.

Cumin, chili powder, garlic powder and a bit of red pepper.

Add a bit of garlic powder and curry powder.

A tad bit of butter is helpful too.

Also cooking it in broth is good!

Adding a bit of dried onion or fresh is good too!

Or even some nuts - like pecans or walnuts...chopped up with these herbal mixtures..gives it a nutty taste.

I usually mix low fat italian dressing with rice. Mmmm! It tastes soo good and keep rice from sticking!

Hubby from Afghanistan uses saffron, coriander, parsley, (not altogether necesarily), fried onions, chopped up raw potatoes (on the bottom--they get crunchy), and cardamom.

I fry mine up with an egg, soy sauce, frozen peas and a handful of prawns/shrimp or chicken :)

Oh just thought of another favourite! Take cooked rice and fry it with some garlic that has been put in the oil and stir through some fresh coriander/cilantro before serving. Doesn't use spices but it's great and so easy!!
