That is not me in my avatar. Lately, I have had a couple of people mention to me that they thought it was. But nope its not.

Some of you know who it is, but for those of you who don't. Its Darrell "Dimebag" Abbott, one of the greatest guitarists to ever live. He was viciously murdered by a deranged fan during a concert in Ohio on December 8, 2004.

Yup, from Pantera. Couldn't believe it when that happened. I was told at work by a friend who loves Pantera aswell. We just burst into tears!

Wow. That is just soooo sad. I heard about that happening on the radio but I'd never seen a picture of him. I hope I didn't tick you off with what [obviously now I know the facts] turns out to have been an incredibly insensitive post

Never got into Pantera or Damage Plan ( nothing against them ), but I knew Jeff "Mayhem" Thompson...the security man who died that night also,trying to stop the crazy son of a bitch.
R.I.P., Mayhem, the faires won't be the same without ya.

I didn't mean to exclude the others lost that night.

For those who don't know, three others died with Dimebag that night, as DocBruce mentioned, Jeff "Mayhem" Thompson, and also a fan, and an employee of the club. In addition some other people were wounded that night, I'm not sure how many, but one of them was the band's drum tech, "Kat" who was wounded while protecting the band's drummer, Vinnie Paul, who is Dimebag's brother. In the end a police officer was able to shoot & kill the murderer before he was able to take any more innocent lives.

Please don't think that I was saying that you were excluding anyone else. It's just that every time I hear about this, I think of Mayhem.

Yea, its a kind of poem I wrote, I'm not much of poet so it came out kind of funky, but its kinda of my tribute to Dime.
