I just heard that a White Buffalo Calf was born recently, on a reservation. I checked out Snopes.Com, to see if it was a hoax, and so far, I could find no listing of it as a hoax.

The White Buffalo Calf is a very good omen, in Native American Tradition, ensuring the protection, guidance, and blessings of the White Buffalo Woman upon the Native peoples. It is thought, that since it was born during this time of tribulation, that it is a very good omen, that everything will indeed, be ok.

Just thought I'd share that information. If anyone finds out that it's a hoax, let me know.

Texas was blessed with the birth of a White Buffalo on January 17, 1984. Confused? It's my Indian name. (hee hee!)

Learn to use search engines.

They're invaluable tools.

Go type "Double E Ranch Vanderbilt" into www.google.com and see what pops out. Yes, it's true Danustouch.

Yes, there was one about five years ago...and unfortunately, it was shot. I don't think they ever found out who the perpetrator was. But I remember it being talked about in the newspapers. The Native peoples were very distressed about it.

Is it just me? I'm confused. If the calf was born on August 7, how was it a sign of support during the time of great danger and all the horror in NY and Washington. On August 7th the tragedy haden't occured yet...

Although just to say it is a very cool thing. My totem animal is the buffalo and I always keep a white statue of one up at all times...and ironically, my daughters birthday is August 7.

Well..Perhaps the White Buffalo Calf woman, already "Knew" what would happen on Sept 11th. And surely..the troubled times began long before the attack on the WTC and the Pentagon. So...it simply serves as a sighn, to me, that she has not abandoned her people.
