Does anyone else eat ground soy? I tried it just recently and I love it! It is so good and totally animal free. I tastes a lot like hamburger but it is really heathy. I even have my father eating is (which is an incredible feat!)!!!
Two big thumbs up for ground soy!

I eat a lot of soy...soy milk, soy protien, tofu, tofu burgers. I'm not a vegetarian but I like soy and it's good for you. What is ground soy? Does it have the same consistency as ground meat that you can shape into burgers & things?

You could probably shape it into patties. It looks just like loose hamburger. You can get it in the health food section of grocery stores. It's really awsome for making english muffin pizzas and so on. It is definately worth trying!

lol... I know what you are talking about, and yes... it is really good.

It is essentially a substitute for ground beef. May I suggest you try it in a spaghetti sauce in place of the ground beef, it is DIVINE!

A little story, before I became vegetarian, I loved meat. One day we were eating spaghetti, a family favourit, and I commented that this was a REALLY good MEATY spaghetti sauce. My parents smiled and told me it was tofu meat. I hesitated, than kept eating. It really does taste similar... its great stuff. :)

Meat subsititutes are great! I made chocolate tofu tarts. They are just like chocolate cream pies except they are a lot healthier.
My brother came into the kitchen, who like my father, is totally anti tofu, and started eating a bowl of the left over chocolate tofu filling sayin, "MMMMMMMMM! I love home made pudding!" After he downed the bowl I admitted that it was actually made of tofu and he was still (amazingly) hooked!

Although, our family is not vegetarian, we don't eat a lot of beef. When we do have meat, it's usually chicken or fish. Sometimes pork. Thanks for the suggestions about the ground soy. I'll look for it.

We still use chicken or fish occasionally, but I use almost all soy products for most recipes. My kids love it too. The only thing we have trouble getting a taste for is the soy milk, even the chocolate flavored type. My daughter likes rice milk, but it is really sweet. But tofu, ground soy, we use them all the time, and we also get the soy nuts. And soy is far healthier for you than meat products, particularly since so many of them are full of antibiotics and hormones, etc.

While these ideas are great my only problem is that I suffer from a soy based allergy. It makes me break into a severe rash and I vomit non stop. Oh well I guess not everyone was ment to be vegan. :)

I eat ground soy, and soy burgers too. I found them to be a great alternative for other protiens. especially on a toasted wheat bun.
I like to add some feta chease and pickled beets...don't laugh it perks the taste buds.
Those tacos sound great, gotta try it.
