Does anyone know how to have a resonable amount of incense smell in your room? My room is small and so the odor stays in my carpet for a while. I've tryed opening my window, but it still doesn't do much. Any ideas?

Uh, stop burning so much of it? Just use a little bit?

Not sure... Clean and vaccuum frequently. Use less incense. Maybe experiment with buying or making different types of incense that have a less strong scent. I've started using more scented candles for everyday use in the house. They are much softer and don't hang around so long.

I know... but I like the way it smells! And even a little is to much for my little shack to handle!:P

Try a natural incense. Most incense sticks you buy at the stores are made with synthetic fragrances. I find the ones made with natural essential oils are not quite so overwhelming. Another suggestion is a essential oil burner. It's a container where you put a little tealight candle inside. On the top is a little bowl for water. Just add your favourite essential oils or blend & let the water carry the scent out to your room. I find these much easier to control to the amounts.

I use an oilburner instead and I find it working lots better for me then regular insence sticks or cones. Since I am a bit allergic oilburners work better for me too, and they don't smell all that much, since you yourself can control the smell by using more or less oil in it... :)

Another alternative is to get an oil that is safe to put on your skin and wear it as a "perfume"... then you take the scent with you wherever you go. Although you need to be careful about wearing it if you are going outside your own home since many places are scent free now and a lot of people are allergic to any kind of scent. bb talamh

better grade incense doesnt leave a staunchy smell
but a nice aroma try some at the stone circle.or as
was pointed out a defuser with oils is great you can
also make your own becareful not to use to much oil
some times a defuser bowl can brake if there is to much oil
it can ignite.

You could try a simmer pot. It gives off a faint smell of whatever your burning. I also have a very small room. It works for me quite well.

I can only use a better grade insense or burn oils/candles. I had a problem with the smoke from the insence turning my white walls gray. I had to repaint. It sucked. I feel your pain!

If the scent is mostly in your carpet, get a couple of boxes of baking soda, sprinkle the carpet liberally, let it sit for an hour or so (over night is even better) and then vaccuum it up. The baking soda will absorb most of the aroma left in the carpet. ( Works for pet odors on carpets as well)

I think oilburners are better for small rooms cos it's up to you how smelly you want it to be!!! :) Oils aren't quite as strong a smell as incense.

Use carpet freshner that you sprinkle then sweep up. Or try using a fan to blow it out of the room and circulate it. If that doesn't work.....quit smelling your carpet! lol....What you doing with your nose on the floor anyway.? just poking fun!
You guys should try one of those lamp rings. I got mine @Walmart. It is a metal ring you put on a light bulb and fill with oil. Smells really good and lasts a while and I have never had a problem with my carpet smelling from them. You can get one for 0.99 cents.............

A simmerpot is a little ceramic pot shaped thing that uses heat, like a candle under it or plugs into the electrical outlet in the wall. You pour oil in it and the oil heats up and ...well you know the rest.
