I'm going to interview at 10 am tomorrow for a job with an assisted living for people with developmental disabilities...

this would be a great job for me... help pay the bills while I am in school (social work major) and a great learning experience.

i bombed the last interview I went on so I need all the good luck I can get!

thanks for being such a great community... I'm loving it here as you can tell from my number of posts per day..

i went to the interview... it went well... the first step is over. I'm scheduled to have dinner with the people that live in the house I'd be working at... on friday at 4:30. I'm nervous because I know people will be watching me to see how I interact with everyone and immediate interaction is something I'm not that great at, I tend to sit back and watch before I decide if I want to join in...

What will be more important is how you react to and accept the people you would be working with. Both of my daughters are developmental disabled (autistic) and it requires patience to make contact, particularly with my youngest. Just try to relax (Hard, I know!) and you'll be fine. Hugs and good thoughts headed your way!

I've done that! You will love it, and they'll give you great training to add to your resume.

These places are always short of money and don't treat their employees too well, but the rewards are great.

Sending lots of job juju, mojo and hoodoo....... :tarotwitc

I agree with Freyja,

:) AHHH congradulations on the dinner invite!

Remember, Just relax, think of it as going to relatives house to eat... (they will be looking at how comfortable the ppl are with you, and how you interact with them) Im sure you will do fine :)
