Posted to me concerning my little dog, Wrinkles. This has been the hardest thing yet! I had him longer than any other animal, It was really hard when I had to put my cat, Autumn Fair, down. She was 15 years old, but this! What makes it even worse is that my beloved German Shepherd, Vahar, is not doing well either. he is 12 years ols, very old for a any type of dog that wiehgs in at 110 pounds! I have an 8 year old Schnauzer, my heart of hearts and 1 and 1/2 year ols Toy Munchkin, but I miss my little Wrinkles like crazy! Last night was the first time in 17 years, his spot on the bed was empty! I stayed with him and held him, kissed his head and told him what a good boy he was, while the vet gave him the shot, i didn't cray untill after so he wouldn't feel as if something terrible was happening, he deserved that! This is so terribly hard! Aaaanyway..thank you all for being so kind!

Wrinkles was very lucky to have you as a mom.
And you are very welcome- Pets (aka "babies" in my house) are truly part of the family so understand completely.

We talk about Rhett, our cat, and how we may someday see him again on earth or in heaven. . :) I am sure that you and Wrinkles will be together someday too.

Blessings and strength to you.

Of course you feel so sad and miss him so much.... he was a lucky doggie to have had you for a beloved friend all this time... and you have your other animals.. so your arms aren't totally empty.

My beloved black Lab Morgan died four years ago.. and he is still here, guarding me on the other side. i'm not the only one who has seen him. A friend of mine who stayed overnight with her sick baby asked me in the morning if i had a black Lab.. because she had seen him.. and she didn't even know about Morgan.

So maybe there's a lovely little loyal doggie spirit hovering around you. Light a candle to show him you know he doesn't need doggie bikkies any more.. but you still want to show your love for him. hugs. bb talamh

:( I am so sorry for your loss. I've lost many dogs in the past to old age, but two dogs, Misty,a German Shepherd and Ginger, an Irish Setter, were really close to me. I call them my Spirit Dogs for they are with me still. There are tears on my keyboard for you.Love from me to you........Old Witch :elf:
