AHHH! She's invading my bubble!

What do you guys do when people just won't accept your faith? For months the youth group leader at my friend's church has been pestering me. I only went to one or two youth groups about a year ago. On the second occastion she found out I was Wiccan. Now she keeps calling wanting to know if I can get together and "talk" with her (just so you know, we had that big religous talk already). She keeps sending me church pamphlets and says she'll pray for me. I know she means well, but she will just not get the hint and leave me alone. Like I said before: She's invading my personal bubble! :)

She obviously needs more then a polite hint.

Tell her firmly but politely that while you understand she is concerned and that her faith encourages recruitment and conversion, that you have absolutely no intention or wish to change your beliefs.

Then ask her to please stop contacting you.

That's all you need. After that, it's harassment. If she keeps on, contact the officials of her church and say that if she continues to harrass you, you will seek a peace bond to keep her from contacting you.

That should do it. Don't let her continue because you are too polite to ask her to stop. She is exploiting your good nature in the false hope that you will "see the light". Don't let her waste any more of your time.. or hers. bb talamh

Notify them that you apreciate thier concern however they have crossed the line and are now harrassing you and you want it to stop. If your parents know of your choice and approve ask them to support you in this.

My parents know about my Wiccan beliefs and are fine with it. My dad is just as annoyed as I am with this lady because he is always covering for me so I don't have to talk to her. He calls her the "deprogrammer." :D

Then enlist his aid. Tell this woman that continued contact would be harrassment and that you are prepared to take legal action if she will not back off.

Seriously, Artemis, I gather you're still under your parent's guardianship? You father should have a talk with this youth leader & tell him to stop harrassing you. I'm sure if your dad tells him the next step would be legal action, he will stop.

I have never had a problem letting people know I'm not interested and to back off. It's a relatively easy thing to do, for me anyway. Just be honest and forth-right. She has no right to push her beliefs on you but you have every right to make her leave you alone.

And then, of course, the suggestion to ask her to bring a goat to a sacrafice is just a classic! :crylaugh:

Had that problem a few years back, but eventually they got the hint... Or I scared them...

Just tell her to cut it out or go away, that you dont need to be constantly bothered by that shtuff, and you would rather have it end peacefully. Or simply say that you respect their beliefs and that although you do respect them you dont appriciate the targeting, so stop.

Or scare the bajebus out of them... Speak backwards and in latin say it is tongues that you have been touched by an angel and they promised to call...

i should come over there and sort her out for ya artemis! i go to a christian (luthern actually) skool, so ive had plenty of practice! some people are juss like that tho, they dont want to be educated. get your dad to speak to her, whatever, but at least let her know for sure where youre standing! its not being mean, its juss standing up for yourself. :)
