You might, or could, say that the 'normal' of any particular society/person/whatever is the stereotype of it. But than again stereotypes change, and almost NO-ONE fits a stereotype perfectly.

in everyday life. It is when you examine things closer that you redefine normal. 8men and 2 women, 2gay men 6 staight men, and 1gay woman and 1 straight woman. 5 health straight men, 1 sick, 2 healthy gay men, and 1 healthy gay woman, 1 ill straight woman.
Normal changes the closer you examine it.

my deffinition of normal would be a product of living they way others say you should live, wearing clothes that your Parents and society say are apropriate, casting aside your views because they do cause others to look at themselfs...
thus, normal=close minded, controled, zombie like conformist who is afraid to "Dare to be different"

Normality is in the eye of the beholder.

Normal is when something is statistically noticed to be common throughout most of a group. It is relative to the observer and to the group being observed.
And I wouldn't agree it's "conforming, or being close-minded" - you can conform to what people tell you is normal or be close minded against those who don't.

No one finds themselves normal because everyone is the center of their own little universe and they can't see anything beyond that and so of course no one seem normal to themselves you know everything you've done. ^^ People on the street other hand they have no clue (unless you wear a sign) and probably label you as normal unless you go out of your way not to be.

And in a million years is anyone really going to give about who was normal and who wasn't? And because everyone is the center of their own little universe most people don't really care if you're normal either.

UGH! STAR!!!!!!!! the topic of this thread was...what is normal...
Twink... I need to clarify an answer to yer question in another thread...you asked if the voices told me to brn things.... the issue is not what the voices tell ppl to do... the issue is how much power one has to control his own actions...
take star's example....(sorry star you just happened to be a good example in this one LOL) Star said that the voices told her to burn things.... Star can then make a decision as to whether or not to do what the "voices" said or not.... then again comes the issue of the actual suggestion in relative proportion to goo d and evil, and how much time she would spend with no computer, no playstaytion and no allowance LOL....
now before you go and say im being off topic, im not done...
this brings me to my point, (checks topic again) oh yeah my point LOL.... NORMAL...is someone who has his mental faculties in check...he/she has power over his own actions and doesnt do bad /wierd things and blame them on imaginary voices in ones head LOL
NORMAL is Boreing..... But normal is safe....

Being normal isn't all it's cracked up to be.
I haven't conformed to whatever "normal" is in my school. I've always felt on the outside, like I didn't really belong. But I like it in a way.
I'm sure some of you know how I feel.

In school..
People tend to be "normal" or "abnormal" - then you have all the people going on about how they are "abnormal" who in the end, because there are so many of them, become "normal" too - just normal in a different group. You have your goths, your potheads, the tattoo/piercing/punk freaks, etc. and in the end everyone who is trying to be abnormal makes themself normal because so many people are doing it. At this point trying to be abnormal is so normal it's kind of funny. Seeing someone go "no no I *am* wierd, see I _______" is normal, people going "oh I don't conform, I _______" are *normal*. And in the end a lot of the "normal" kids complain about how much pressure there is on them to be "normal" that *that* becomes normal. It's kind of funny :rotfl:
