Hi,
before you decide on becoming a wiccan, take lots and lots of time to study. Read plenty of books (check the books forum for some tips), and look around the web; witches voice
( http://www.witchvox.com ) would be my first choice to send you to... there you can find the answer to lots of questions and help on where to start.
And don't forget to give yourself plenty of time for thought. So before doing any initiations, find out if this is for you, if you feel this is right for you... Here at MW you'll probably find lots of help too, if you have any questions just ask :)

I agree, read all you can before commiting to a tradition. I personally follow and Eclectic path for the time being. I'm learning about the different traditions and pantheons. I haven't found one that draws me in deeply yet. If I don't find one, then I will continue to be Eclectic.
www.ozwicca.com/course.htm offers a free on-line class. She is based out of Austrailia, so many of the things are "backwards" for me. Like when we have Samhain, they are celebrating Beltain. And she associate the Chalice with the East, for me it's the West, the Sword with the north...for me it's the south. (This is because she lives in the Southern Hemisphere and I live in the Northern Hemisphere.) It's a basic class. Lessons are sent via e-mail. It's very interesting.
I read everything I can get my hands on! I can't even begin to tell you how many books I have and how many I've checked out of the library!
I take it you cannot find a coven in your area, or you wouldn't be asking for help here.....or you don't get along with coven members....what ever the case is, there are some fabulous books out there.
The Craft by Dorothy Morrison
To Ride A Silver Broomstick by Silver Ravenwolf
To Stir a Magick Cauldron by Silver Ravenwolf
(plus many more by Silver Ravenwolf)
Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft by Raymond Buckland (plus many more by Raymond Buckland)
The Spiral Dance by Starhawk
Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner by Scott Cunningham (plus many more by Scott Cunningham)
A Grimoire of Shadows by Ed Fitch
A couple other pagan authors are: Laurie Cabot, Gerina Dunwich, DJ Conway, Stewart and Janet Farrar, Patricia Telesco, Amber K.
There are tons of books out there with wonderful information in them!
I hope some of this is helpful! :D
