This week on another thread a comment was made about me, and trees, and being a Druid. It got me to thinking as I realized that this person thought because of comments I made that I wasn't well studied about types of trees. My path has never been about trees. We as Druids don't study trees, we study mankind. You realize, at least I did, that the day you are able to rise above the world, (I mean this figuratively by the way) and see the folly of man then you are becoming a Druid. What we do and say will be meaningless eventually. Even this post will one day be lost and forgotten. We only effect life for a short period of time in spite of what many want to think. The Pyramids of Cheops at the Giza plateau have been there for much of the time of mans civilization yet are brand new as the world tells time. Though the builders were well known in their day, now arguments are heard over the names of the builders. These momuments to folly should be seen as what they are, examples of the futility of permanence. I wish that I could convince anyone that ever commited suicide to wait 6 months, the world and your life can change so much in just that short period of time. I as a Druid try and take the path of advice which rather then pushing someone in a certain direction guides that person to see the unlimited choices that are before them. This is not to say that I don't hold strong opinions on certain subjects. I do, and Twig my old friend can atest to that. This part of our community is devoited to those things closely aligned to the Druid path, for those of you upon this road who have questions or wondered about what it takes to be successful in this endeavor remember that you must seek truth and knowledge without being too judgemental, take the time to watch the world around you. Look for the folly and be amused by it, remember the life span of folly is the same as anything else, it is governed by the attention span of man. Repeat the truth when you see it. Seek it out. It will become easier to find the older you get. Truth loves to hide from us, it makes a game of it. It is frequently hidden among lies and dishonor. Go there boldly to find it. Whenever the truth is revealed among lies and dishonor those things tend to run away. Do not be afraid to call the liar such, they are cowards and though they may hurt you, in time people will remember you and not them. Honor is the shield which protects what you say from being ignored. A man or woman with honor is known to be truthful and their words may be taken well. An honorable man cannot lie, you may not have one without the other. Yes a dishonorable man way tell the truth, but it is always suspect.
