View Full Version : HOLY CRUD!!! I just realized. . . .

I was just looking through some old drawings of mine, and I noticed something that kinda shook me.
Late this summer I was on a trip, and I doodled a picture of an angel/spirit standing, staring at a tree, ignoring a city behind her. The city has the empire state building in the middle of it. There are angels in the clouds above it. One has his arms out wide, like a child pretending to be a monster. One is looking down at the city, watching avidly. One is laying on it's back stargazing. And the one that was down below, staring at the tree, is very sad, like she's going to cry for the earth.
I never realized the symbolism, until now.
I think the city I drew behind is supposed to be New York City.
I'm not sure what to make of it. . . I wasn't even THINKING when I drew it, just drawing. . . .
(the drawing didn't scan well, forgive lol)

I don't know what it might mean or have meant, maybe you should look back thru some more of your drawings and see if they mean anything.
By the way that is a great drawing.

I've always thought that art lets you connect more fully to your inner self...maybe you're touching upon the psychic side of yourself here. I'm with Phoenix...go through your other stuff and see if anything else turns up. You never know, you could be a prophetic doodler! :D

Awww, Puma I'm touched! My words have been immortalized! :D
I know what you mean though...most of my drawings are sketches for paintings, and I'm mostly an abstract painter and every now and then I'll come up with these weird images or symbols...it can be spooky at times...

hey, have any of those "weird images or symbols" scanned? ;) I'd like to see 'em hehe

Most of them are too big to scan, but I could always try to draw them smaller and then scan them... I tend to work on 20x20 canvas. I like the square format and can't seem to find in a variety of sizes...and I'm absolutely terrible at stretching canvases myself!
It's too bad though that they don't make bigger scanners for stuff. I could always try to take a photo, I guess, but sometimes my backgrounds don't show up all that well. I'll let you know what I come up with... :D

okees.
btw, if you go to a copy centre like Kinkos or something, they should have larger scanners available for use (the fees aren't really that bad, I used to scan all my stuff that way before I got a scanner).
