Trickster Spirits?

I had no idea where to place this thread. I hope this is the right spot.

My family and I have been experiencing a "trickster" about the house recently. This spirit, ghost or what have you is what I call an "imitator." It tends to like to call out our names and imitate each other's voices when doing so. It also likes to appear like one of us to the other out of the corners of our eyes. For example, my husband will come out from the back of the house stating he just heard me call his name and saw me go down the hallway, but I was somewhere else completely and had not called for him. I have seen ghost rats that have spooked my cat, and I saw a very solid apparition of what appeared to be my DH in our lawn as I approached our house once in our car. I thought he was out mowing for second, but then he disappeared. All the apparitions are either quick movement out of the corner of our eyes, sometimes shadows moving and sometimes nearly semi-solid, yet obviously transparant forms that quickly disappear. I mean, the rat that spooked my cat made me jump and scream. It ran between my legs and disppeared. Creepy!

The thing is, we never had this much activity in this house ever before. A friend of mine suggested I may have a brownie or some sort of trickster spirit. Any ideas as to what this could possibly be?

I mean, I would seriously think I was going crazy if my whole family were not experincing the ghosts/spirits/voices along with me. I do not feel negativity per se, it is just odd and takes me by surprise (and that scares me for the moment). I just would like to figure it out.

sounds like a house goblin/brownie type of thing.

the best thing is to feed it - leave it a saucer of milk and some sweets or chocolate out. sometimes if they get fed regualr they will do some of the housework for you!

I loathe usless spirits.

Have a talk with it, make it pull its weight if it wants to stay around.

Conversely, do you know the history of your house?

Our house is a little over 10 years old. We had it built. We are the only owners. The land was farm land before that and just had crops on it--no house that I know of. However, it was all part of a farm, and the farm's house was a few lots away. The story is that that house burned down and there were some fatalities, but other than that, that is it.

I don't know much about spirits, but how strange, at least it is playful instead of negative.

Hrm...if it's just imitating people, I don't think it's a poltergeist (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poltergeist); they usually move inanimate objects around as well as make noises.

You could always try an exorcism.

I am getting worried about this one now. I had a dream about a black pig (very mean!) being held by a leash just outside my window. I later interpreted this to be negative spirit that has affected both my mother's and father's homes (now and when they used to live together). I have noticed an increase in tension at times between us here, and the last time it happened, my daughter said she saw a black pig apear on her wall. :lookaroun (My daughter follows no path but is dealing with discovering she does have gifts.) I am worried about it, as I have never delt with anything like this before. I have never done an exorcism. All I know is, this thing seems more dangerous than I would like, whatever it may be. I think I need to get rid of it ASAP. Hard to do when I still have no idea what it is I am facing and why. :whatmewor
