I am seriously thinking of persuing the wiccan life style, however, I am not realy sure how. I also do not know anyone who is wiccan and don't know how to actually locate anyone who would be able to help so I thought that a message board would be a good step. I was wondering how any of you got started so that I could have some stepping stone.
I thank you all!

Merry meet and welcome Jade_Light, :). Mystic Wicks is an absolutely wonderful board, I'm sure you'll love it here.
My recommendations would be this:
1)Always follow your intuition, :).
2)Read as much as you possible can.
~Principles of Wicca by Vivianne Crowley
~The Truth About Witchcraft Today, Wicca and Living Wicca by Scott Cunningham
~A Witch Alone by Marian Green
~Natural Magick by Sally Dubats
3)Ask lots and lots of questions, :).
This is exactly how I got started and it worked quite well. It's been my experience that most people start on their paths this way, hehe.
Love & light always,
Kristin Ann

Exactly the way I am starting, jade_light. In the area where I live, there are no fellow pagans that I know of. I started with Scott Cunningham, and from there read other books, and the web has been a wonderful source. This community is great, you'll love it! I'm really new and already have found so much helpful information here.

You picked the right message boad Jade! There are quite a few good books to start out with. All of them i can think of is listed in the books forum. there is also quite a few good links in the New Pagans Forum. I started out by reading Scott Cunningham, Silver Ravenwolf, and Raymound Buckland. I also used the internet for quite a while also.

Read, READ & READ as much as you can. And of course, ask many, many questions. You can't go wrong with that.

I agree: read and ask questions!! The internet is a great resource but check out your local library and bookshops... Scott Cunningham writes great books:)

Go with your heart and know what is right for you isn't right for somebody else and what is right for others isn't right for you. You've gotta study and look around.
