No one in my family Mist, but my MOm does work in the field. She's an RN that has worked with both mentally handicapped adults & kids. I used to hang out with her at the job she had at the children's hospital. One kid, his name was Packy, was a great kid. I don't know what ever happened to him, because by the time I got out of college he was too hold to be at the hospital anymore & my mom had quit.
Why is it that you ask Mist?

My family doesn't have down syndrom but I did have a wonderful Aunt who was altered by polio as a child she was a very special woman and it inspired me to donate a lot of time to the special olimpics and what is known as the Hand in Hand festival each year. I have found through experience that these special people often bring something wonderful into our lives. They are special because they often bring magic though in this day and age they need to be gaurded from some that would take and hurt them they are often some of the most loving trusting individuals you will ever meet as you well should know and they can bring the wonder of the world into our lives.

Greetings. <Hiya Myst *grin*> My nephew has down syndrome. He's such a special little guy. He see's so many things that we can't. He's a year and a half, and is such a sweetheart:). I'm very blessed to have such a special nephew, he was born on St. Patricks day believe it or not (and my niece his sister, was born on april 1st).
Did you have any questions that I can maybe help answer?
I'm such a lucky aunty!
