It always amazes me how when you think you know how low the human race can go, someone finds a way to go lower :geez: . this is just sick.

Edited because I just saw an ad from western union saying "you have to act fast when your loved ones are dying because of a hurricane...send money round the world fast with western union"...am I the only person that thinks this ad is completely inappropriate and a sickening exploitation of the current situation?!

All I can say is karma will bite them in the butt when they are least expecting it.

This is absolutely ridiculous! Why are people so concerned with money now? "Hey, my car's got more bling than your's does!" Who cares? People are in need, they deserve help, not money hungry idiots profitting off of their misfortune. I wonder how these people would react, or hopefully will react when the tables have turned? All I can say is karma will bite them in the butt when they are least expecting it. Rock on Wakywitch! I agree 100% with you. Now I'm angry... grrrr. :bangyourh

I'm betting some hurricaine or tornado is going to come for THEM soon, going along with the daily-karma theory...
And *sadly*, no one will help them....
Because they scammed the hungry, sick, injured, homeless and dying.
Pathetic.

:jawdrop: I'm outraged! :goodgrief
How on earth could people even think about trying to make money from things like this???! :grrrrr:

What the hoo-hah?
*shakes head* And I thought the guy offering housing for *only* $1300/mo was a skanky bastage. That ad is in TERRIBLE taste, and I'm surprised it made it past the advisory board. WU is looking at terrible press for quite some time...
...but enough about that. Seriously, I don't get how low people can go sometimes--I just work to fight it and protect others. That's the best I can do.

it is utterly amazing how low someone will go to make a profit.......i agree with the point about karma, and all this is really doing is hindering help for the victims here, if we cant trust online donations, how else can we help
grrrr......it just makes me so

"you have to act fast when your loved ones are dying because of a hurricane...send money round the world fast with western union"
...how are you gonna be able to save them if they have no electricity to recieve the money?

These kind of bastards turn up whenever there is a tragedy, remember when they did it for 9/11 and the Tsunami?
They are disgusting excuses of lifeforms!

I rember seieng a report about hte Tsunami. How pedafiles purposely went there to prey upon the suffering children! They were looking for orphaned children. This is pure evil. Maybe evil isn't even as bad, well you get the point
Things like this also stop peopel form helping those who need it. Its like the boy who cried wolf in a way. i went a donation (wish I could give more but spent money on books for college and have to get supplies like notebooks and binders and gas to get there and back.) But, even if it only helps one kitty or puppy, its better than nothign. I did it offically with the humane society online. I would probably suggest official organizations or people you regularly talk too.
But, to prey upon this is sad. That money coudl go to actual victimes. I do believe in karam though, and this would be serious karma.

In New York there was a blackout a little less than a decade back. A huge blackout that covered most if not all of the city. The first reaction that people had was to loot and steal and burn whatever they could find not thinking for even a second about their neighbor or how the people they were stealing from would be hurt by it. All they cared was about fuffiling their material wealth, in some cases ignoring the basic food/shelter to obtain radios, TVs, you name it. It was a true epitome of raw chaos and disorder.
The only thing anyone gained from that was sadness and regret. Nobody helped eachother and more than a few people died in the looting. It was a terrible and disgusting period of time
Then two years ago in 2003 there was another blackout. My dad was stuck in , trapped in the city for days with only his car and his workclothes. And this time the exact opposite happened. There was no looting, people helped their neighbors and random strangers get non-perishable food, and everyone helped their fellow citizen get through what was a very uneventful "disaster".
Everyone felt good about themselves, because they had learned their lesson from the first blackout. They knew that it benefits nobody to steal from someone else in times of chaos, and that even greater benefits can arrise from being generous and helpful when the need arrises.
I hope the people of New Orleans learn that lesson. Because disasters will come and we cant stop them from happening. But its how we as a community react to them that will tell if it becomes a true disaster or not.
(this story is not meant for the disgusting filthy lying weasels that steal from charities and rape the people of much needed aid. if they even for one day were in New Orleans trying to live day to day they would be shaking and sucking their thumbs within hours crying for their mothers to bring their bwankies and their num-nums. I would have no sympathy for them and i would laugh and laugh and laugh as they learn the hard way of what happens when people take the spirit of giving and the goodwill of others and turn it into profit)
*sigh* my story/rant is done.
