Dextra and Carmelo will be holding a handfasting at the Beltane Festival this year. I am so excited about this that I have nothing further to say. Believe me, if I tried to, it would be senseless babble. Kind of like I'm doing right now. :D

What to say?!?

I pray the Goddess walks with you both.

I think at Beltane, a Red candle would be in order. (No offence, Carmelo).

*high five* *Hugs*

I must have missed the point. Why would I be offended about the Red candle?

I think I was trying to make a little joke that went bad.

Here's what I think I will do. Since this a very special occation for the both of you, I will lite three candles - with your blessings, of course.

Red - For the Goddess.
Blue - Like Sapphire.
White - Like Diamond.

Would that be okay?

You both have my prayers and Blessed Be,

Carmelo's still fairly new to paganism in general, so he didn't know what you meant by the candle! :bigredgri

That would be perfect! Thank you for your blessings as well!

(BTW - if I weren't already attached, I'd take you up on the proposal you made in the "surrendered" thread! )

Handfasting is a commitment to take that joy deep, deeper than happiness, deep into the discovery of who you most truly are. It is a commitment to a spiritual journey, to a life of becoming - in which joy can comprehend despair; running through rivers of pain into joy again. Thus joining is even deeper than commitment.
It is a covenant - a covenant that says: I love you - I trust you - I will be here for you when you are hurting, and when I am hurting I will not leave.
It is a covenant intended not to provide haven from pain or anger or sorrow. Life offers no such haven. Instead, marriage is intended to provide a sanctuary safe enough to risk loving; to risk living and sharing from the center of oneself.
This is worth everything.

Blessings to you Dextra and Carmelo, may your days together be good and long upon this earth (:

I think Neil Diamond wrote a song about you, didn't he?

I feel, one day, I will run across you and Carmelo. One day soon. I don't know why - I just ...sense it.

I am truly disappointed. He was a hero of mine.

"Kentucky Woman"?? Does that mean nothing?

*Sadly throws computer out window*

*It's okay, though, he has another*

I for one think that Neil Diamond rules in his own genre...his voice is rich and full and his ballads are timeless...just a thought from this old-timer...lol

Hey, what can I say....

I grew up listening to a lot of musical styles. Neil was one of them.

P.S. Neil always makes me shudder. I can't even pretend to understand what anyone would see in him or his music (sorry guys). He's just so.........lounge lizardish.

She's afraid I might be turning into a poppie(pop-music lover). While I do like some of what they put out, the Backstreet Boys will not be on the CD list of bring-home material.

Neil is on my list...but the Backsteet Boys?...They are on the same path as the New Kids on the Block, Sheena Easton, and all the other overnight sensations that are now a distant and hopefully forgotten memory...hehehe!

I have a theory on everything, just ask Dextra.

Here's my theory. The music industry will always produce overnight sensations to get quick money. Then they'll boost certain overnighters and the others will go down the tubes. Look for nsync to fall soon(have you heard of any new stuff by them?) The overnighters like BSB will go on to new and better horizons. They will go on to solo performances and careers within the music industry, though not entirely on stage. Sort of like what happened with New Edition. They became BellBivDevoe and Bobby Brown went solo(of course, he is now solo you can't hear him), before they became non-existent on the stage. The same will happen to BSB where nsync will be like the new kids on the (chopping)block.

BTW, this in no way means that I advocate BSB. I will not be a poppie!

When it comes to love, all is heavenly. There is no physical and no emotional. There really isn't a name known to man for it just yet. What it is you will know, you will feel and you will be. Somethings just take time and trial. It makes no one a bad person for mistakes in the past. They really aren't mistakes. They're mainly called and known as examples. Things one can look back to and relate. We all learn from the past, no matter how awful.

Words of thought.....
