I heard that at one point people were going into houses and actually stepping over the bodies of the homeowners to loot. Can you imagine?!!!

Unfortunately yes... It is sickening
but hey, not every home is empty or occupied by the dead...
and those residents are within thier constitutional rights to protect thier homes ...
so some of those looters im sure will get a nice surprise...

That is terrible. I know they are devastated there, but this behaviour is completely uncalled for. I am so disappointed with those people that are looting unnecessarily. :awwman:

More proof that American society is turning more into a bunch of savages with no class. I remember when the Rodney King verdict was announced and people decided to loot then, too... What the hell does stealing other people's belongings have to do with a verdict or a hurricane?
Just shows people's true colors, doesn't it?

Gotta love Miss.!!! If by some chance my sis is still in her home, I feel sorry for anyone who would walk thru her door even thinking of looting the place. She takes her guns seriously..

Well unessecary looting is wrong. But many are looting(not everyone, just some) for food, water, and medical supplies which I condone. The simple fact is that help is coming but not in large enough quantities to help everyone so sometimes people have to help themselves. Now as for some people taking unessecary items, they are just sick people. But looting for survival is a totally different thing in my book. Also like its been said before, many people are breaking down mentally, this isn't always their "true" colours but the actions of now deranged people due to a catastrophic event.

Unfortunatley, I don't think the situation is making them behave this way. I think this is the way they normally are and the situation is enabling them to come out in the open.

And once again, I completely agree with Valnorran.
