I got an online click the order button itch this weekend, and ended up ordering 5 new decks. What was I thinking of - I can't deal with all those decks  But I'm excited, I love to study new decks.

Anyone have any of these?

Crow's Magick
Alchemical (the Robert Place one)
Visconti-Sforza (cuz I wanted to see one of the first decks)
Vision (I usually don't like photographic ones, but this one looked interesting)

and the tiny Universal Waite for my purse.

Note to self - keep the debit card and the computer in separate rooms!

I don't have a single one of those decks!

I have to keep a tight reign on my spending when I'm near tarot decks myself! :D

I have the Alchemical Tarot. I haven't read with them much tho. Now that you have broght them to my attention, I will have to give them a try again. lol They are nice, and I like the red rose on the back of them.
Better hide those credit cards from yourself. LOL

I know how you feel.

But I have used;

The Unicorn Tarot
Tarot of a Moon Garden
The Goddess Tarot
The Faeries Oracle
The Arthurian Tarot

Right now I have the top 4, I gave the 5th away. I also have runes, a crystal ball, a pendulum, and a ouija board. Sometimes I wonder how my fiance puts up with it without asking me why I must have so many decks and divination tools :)

I saw those! They're about an inch tall & come with a tiny little book. I went back to the store but they're sold out & haven't seen them since. :(

Can you tell I'm bored at work? I sure don't know what it is - something in these pics just draw me. This time it was some general ones (Hanson Roberts, Robin Wood), and 2 others that seemed interesting (Hudes, Gendron).

OK - NO MORE! It must be that time of the month or something... My husband is going to kill me. Luckily I get the mail before him. Now I just have to figure a way to intercept the UPS truck - should have had them delivered to work. Oh oh, hiding decks from husband - this is getting obsessive. Sigh...

Note to self: OK, cut *up* debit card. At least I'm paying cash

Wild, that makes 9. Is that ludicrous or what. That doubles my decks - I've got 18 now.

What more could I want? Well, actually, I do want the Aquatic - only reason I didn't get it was cuz I hit send before I remembered it :D

Wow!

But I must say, that I just LOVE my Robin Wood deck! So far, they are the one's I connect with the best.

So, now that you have enough decks for us to choose a reading from.....are you going to do some readings around here? <Dusting cobwebs off victim list>

:)
As part of my 12 step program as a recovering tarot deck addict, I promise to:

1. Do some readings for y'all. ~dragging my feet, hanging my head, heart thumping, wanting to but too chicken to just jump in~

2. Start some threads on Comparative Decks. Now that I've got all of these, guess you'd like to see some comparisons of art, symbols, etc. Then others can join in with their decks.

Now I just have to be patient and wait for the UPS man. This will be interesting - I think some will be delivered the day after Thanksgiving. How to tell my family who'll be visiting why I'm getting boxes of tarot cards. "You do *what*?" :p

StormCloud, I can understand. I buy scissors like you buy tarot cards. :p I have a pair of scissors for every fabric known to mankind! And Goddess help the person that uses the wrong pair!

LOL More like, "Can you really read those? Can I see them? Read for me, read for me! I'd believe in them, but would you give me a reading anyways??" ....kind of deal. Or, at least that has been my experience. ;)

I've only gotten 3 - tiny Universal, Visconti-Sforza, and Crow's Magick. Phooey - the Vision one was out of stock..

So far, my impressions:
tiny Universal: works great in my purse and in the office. I was surprised at the size - I knew they were small, but didn't realize that with the thickness staying the same, it would look so 'fat'! Some of the cards are printed kind of light, so details are a bit hard to see. Better than printing out Joan Bunnings class on a b/w printer and cutting those up, tho. To shuffle, I have to do it in three parts cuz the full deck is so thick compared to it's size.

Visconti-Sforza (Pierpont Morgan): I didn't realize they were so big! I must now have the smallest *and* the largest tarot decks. They are interesting in that you can see the basis of all the symbolism we're used to in modern decks - I don't think I could ever read with them. Just nice to have one of the first decks. And it's interesting studying the history in Kaplan's 'Encyclopedia of Tarot'. Two of the cards were 'lost' and recreated - the Devil and the Tower. The rest are actual reprints of cards located in 3 different places - the Pierpont Morgan museum, and 2 places in Italy. It's also interesting to see how modern symbolism has *changed*, or more accurately added to.

Crow's Magick: Have only taken a quick glance at these, since I'm at work. The art really draws me, I think they'll be great as a meditation tool. I'll have to try them in a regular spread to see how they'll do for reading. I'm partial to dark backgrounds, so the contrast between the black and the glowing clip art is striking. I always draw a first card to give me an idea how I'll use the deck - I drew the 8 of Wands. Key words are Exceed, Surpass (2 key words are printed on the card), which is a bit different meaning than the usual 'quick action, news' that I usually feel for it. (Tho the divination meanings in the LWB are the usual - doesn't seem to match the card key words). The pic is 8 sharpened wands, each with a feather attached, and a gold crocodile with an open mouth. It also has the symbol for Leo. Behind it looks like some storm clouds.

I don't have any of the other decks that I'll probably use for reading - UPS will probably get them here by the end of the week...

No one at Thanksgiving wanted a reading, thank goodness. Husband made his little joke about his resident witch - jokingly asked me in front of everyone if I was going to do readings. Could have smacked him. Luckily no one took him up on it.

Now I'll have to go find a picture of your cards. :D
