I have heard that you can not feel pain in a dream but I always have. Last night I pinched myself (haha) in a dream and it still hurts now. I have been biten in dreams that do and dont leave marks, I have been smacked upside the head and all that fun stuff and I always feel it! Now I know it isnt physical cause I fell out of my bunkbeds (top bunk, and the room was clean for once thank the gods!) once didnt feel a thing in my dream, although I did have a bit of a headach in the morning, I just got up and went back to bed. But occasionally I will see something that looks like a mark from my dreams. I will look around for local objects that could have caused them and find none (room might be a mess but I would remember an aligator jaw at the foot of my bed, or a pair of snake fangs, or fluffy bunnys with huge teeth... seriously bunnys are really really nasty things, have you ever been 'warned' by a dream bunny, and just look at those teeth! I dont like bunnys they are mean!). So has any one else felt dream pain? Or have you heard of it?
The hindu (sp?) believe that karma can be worked off in dreams because the pain there is very real, the maya believe that the dream world is the underworld, and pain there is very real (and that nasties cause it), the austrelian natives (cant spell today, so i wont even try abarigianl) believe that the dream world is as real as this one if not truer to the creator. Ack I know that it is no fun when the dreams hurt!

If sometihng didn't cause it in the conscious world... Then I really dont know, besides a REAL BAD astral beating by an angry spirit. I am completely clueless.

i have always felt it. I dont believe the idea of not feeling pain in your dreams, they probably just dont remember the pain when they wake up. IMVHO

I know I've had nightmare's where my boyfriend has hurt me in some way and I'm heartbroken and crying in my dream...then I'll wake up and not talk to him until I can calm down because I was so hurt and upset for real.

if you die in your dreams you die for real...

I used to have bad dreams about Freddy Krueger, and that's what scared me enough to start lucid dreaming.

anyways, my girlfriend had a dream the other day where she wasn't sure if she was dreaming, and she pinched herself, and said it didn't hurt. She's like, "It really works!"

I have heard of people getting cut or something in a dream, and it's there in real life; extremely rare though. Maybe it's a sign? Connection like that probably works both ways

Is it possible that the mind on some believes that the dreamed event was real, and therefore creates the appropriate response?

If so, that really says a lot for the power of the mind

interesting notion!

I cant recall ever feeling pain in a dream although I have felt fear (and I mean real fear) on a few occasions. Also the theory about if you die in a dream you die for real is unfounded. I died in a dream once. Saw my spirit leave my body etc. But it was only a dream. I'm still kicking.
Live long and prosper. Blessings

I had this dream once that ended with a knife being put to my throat... In some dark hotel room

then I remembered the dream when some feds were handing us tickets for camping in the woods; they tried to say I was somebody else, and drag me away. Argh!

and (in that dream) there were these 20 foot tall judges walking through the Mcdonalds

but I had another cool dream where I was flying with a spatula! That was pretty cool; I met a lady that had a little baby, it was so cute!

I always feel pain in my dreams, but never have marks or anything. That and I feel normal feelings and stuff. Like for instance, there was one dream I had where I was a fugitive for some reason, and I was THE most WANTED person in the USA!!! Anyhow, there was this one action packed part (uh, scene?? :D) where I was at some convention thing and there were all these cops chasing me and stuff and shooting at me, and I woke up not too long later, out of breath and sweating...not like in the movies where they wake up all outta' breath from nightmares cuz they're freaked out...I mean I was outta' breath and sweating as if I had really been running around dodging bullets!

That and my bro has died in a dream before...stabbed in the back several times...He's still alive...

BTW... look! ----> :ghost: :smash: HEHE!!

Have any dreams continued after you wake up?

This might fall into that category, every dream I had as a kid, I would be falling right before I wake up, and when I woke up I'd still feel like I was falling. Felt really weird

but that's not really a visual thing which is what I think you meant

I love dreaming that I am falling and wake up as I hit the bed. The bed even has leftover bounce from some sorta impact. weird...
