If you decide to donate, be careful you don't donate to this fool.

I have no love at all for Pat Robertson. However, before you get too worked up, please look at this site, and see what they have actually been doing to help.
Operation Blessing's Hurricane Relief Efforts (http://www.ob.org/projects/hurricane_relief/index.asp)
Hunger Strike Force deliveries to stricken areas through Sept. 2; food, drinks and relief supplies: Total lbs: 920,969; Total truckloads: 23
700+ families given food/gas vouchers and/or clothing at the Somebody Cares Houston
490 people fed hot meal and/or given food and clothing at Hosanna church in Houston
5,000 disposable blankets and pillow cases ordered for use with cots at Somebody Cares Houston - will arrive Saturday AM.
Maybe FEMA put them on the list because the FEMA people in the area keep seeing Operation Blessing people and trucks arriving? Not everyone in Pat Robertson's operation are as corrupt as he is.

Just playing Devil's Advocate here.......
Is Operation Blessing handng out water, food, etc. to those who need it regardless of their faith, or is relief based on some kind of religious requirement? ("Umm....sure, I'm a Chrstian. Please feed me.")

This is news? Oi.
Bush has specifically, publicly stated that folks who want to donate money should send it to the Red Cross.
If you want to be specific about where your donations go, watch where you click. Simple, effective, common-sense, and whine-proof.

It would be money well spent.

I followed some links and found this ...
1994 Zaire: Pilots hired by OBI to fly humanitarian aid to Zaire in 1994 were used almost exclusively for Robertson's private corporation diamond mining operations -- for his African Development Company. Chief pilot Robert Hinkle reported that "only one or two of more than 40 flights that he flew were humanitarian -- the rest carried mining equipment."
At first OPI denied it but then a "written statement from the group admitted Robertson's mining company used Operation Blessing planes 'from time to time.'" I call that bold-faced lying by gross distortion for the purpose of CYA. Very self-seeking would be an understatement.
1993 Rwanda: Time also reported that Operation Blessing "was criticized for spending too much money on transportation, pulling its workers out too soon and proselytizing. 'They were laying on hands,'" an American aid worker said. They were "'speaking in tongues and holding services while people were dying all around,'" she added. This was during the Rwandan refugee crisis.
That's a telling part of OBI's track record.
You know, somehow I rather doubt that people and organizations who get rewarded despite lying and worse are going to "change their spots."

With a little research, yes, that's the way to go.

Because HE's starving to death in the wake of this tragedy. He's down to 2 tons of shrimp a day now that NOLA's production has been cut.
