Is there a limit to the number of book of shadows you can have?

I don't think there is a limit to the number of book of shadows, it really all depends on you. I haven't started my one yet but i am going to, i've got a 3-ring binder that i plan on putting information like rituals, spells, chakra's, auras, techniques and magic(k) as well as other stuff like herbs but i also have a dream diary that i keep seperate and a regular diary that i just put personal information in but like i said i think it's all up to you although there are other people on this board who can probably help you out a lot more than me.

Hope this helps :)

I have several Books of Shadows. Over the years I have accumulated a lot of information, far too much to fit into any one book, so now there is a bookshelf next to my altar to keep them all together.

I have never heard of any trad restricting people to only one BOS. Most pagans emphasize that collecting knowledge is a good thing.

No. I've come across someone who's had at least five of them. I doubt anyone would put a restriction on grimoires of any kind. The more information, the better, if you ask me.

I don't believe there's a limit. I've heard of many people with multiple BoS simply because there's so much information out there!

I've also heard of some people having a BoS and a BoL - Book of Light. One had rituals and such and the other had practical knowledge.

Why would there be a limit?
Think about it-- a BOS is a place to keep everything related to you path and practice. The learning and knowlege doesn't stop after one book!

It's unlimited, whatever number you need to keep everything is what it is.
Some only have one, others five or more.

It all depends on you. I personally say there is no limit

I personally don't think there is a limit either...as others have said, the learning doesn't stop when the pages/space in ring binder/whatever runs out, so why should you stop at one? thats my view anyways lol

Why would there be a limit?

Yes, I think this is an important question - why do you think there might be such limits on your practices?

I'm a traditional witch so don't have a BoS, but I would be shocked to learn that any religion would have restrictions on such mundane matters.

Personally I have 3. (1.) A sort of self-discovery journal that I write in as I work on discovering what I truly believe (2.) A journal that I journal in LOL (3.) 1 that I am keeping as a sorta keep sake to hand down to my daughter so it's the 1 that I put special things in and decorate

No that would just be silly. Over the years, you'll end up with more then one. I myself have a few and just think of how big that one book would have to be. LOL.

No, there's not a limit, I have two Book of Shadows of information I've collected, plus another 5 binders of information I'm collecting as part of a partworks, which is a truly wonderful addition to my library.

I just have one,but it comes apart so that I can add pages to it. After it gets way to big,I suppose that I will get another one.
