View Full Version : Need Energies and Prayers

Last year I lost my husband and had to move from the mountains back to town.
My 19 yr old son and I moved in with friends, that we have known for 25 yrs, I thought it would be wonderful...How I was sooo wrong! I am on SSI and get a small check each month. So without any notice they kicked us to the street, in one of their drunken stupers.
Without going into details...needless to say there is no longer a friendship there. I did find an apartment, but the rent and deposit were outragious, it took everything I had financially, but at least we have a roof. My son is a full time college student and has no time to get a job, not even part time.
We have no beds, furniture, ect, and I have used all of the food bank resources, for my area. And I'm really scared, I am diabetic, and have alot of other medical problems.
I am trying to open my herb business, which is on hold for financial reasons, at the moment.
Anyway, I'm in need of all the good energy and prayers you all can muster, I'm praying to the Goddess, everyday, and I even ran out of candles to light, lol
Blessed Be to you all

Am very saddened to hear about your plight, hon. It never rains but pours, doesn't it?
Do you have someone to talk to, Lori? Any friends who can at least lend an ear and a shoulder to cry on? Facing hardships like this with friends to listen helps soften the blows if even a little. It is good that your son is staying in school...don't ever let him give up, no matter how hard it gets.
I have also faced extreme hardships like these, and wonder how on earth I ever managed, but I did. Perhaps it's time to get the media involved or some other sort of PR and see if anyone is willing to donate food, furniture, etc. I'm not sure where you live, but Salvation Army and St. Vincent De Paul society are wonderful resources. They helped me with food, clothing and a crib for my son when we lost everything in a fire. (I never forget them when the holidays roll around, and put a dollar in every red bucket I see.)
You may also be able to try going to community services or family services and ask for food stamps and help with bills.
You may have already tried these things, but thought I'd share them anyway. That's all I know off the top of my head, but if I come up with more, will let you know.
Hang in there, Lori. I am chanting prayers for help to come your way. Don't worry about lighting the candles, the Goddess can see your heart.
Namaste,
Vivienne

I'm so very sorry for the loss of your husband!:hugz:
Financially my family isn't much better off right now. But we do still have candles, I'll light one for you & your son. I know that our 'problems' lead to learning and growing, so I do my best to remember that no matter how difficult things seem, we will come out on the other side of this, feeling an incredible sense of accomplishment. Just know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel...we just must walk through the darkness to get there.

I'm sending you positive vibes also. My mother, sister and I are in a poor financial situation right now and can sympathize with you. But I am grateful for what I have at this moment. I hope everything comes together for you. =)

Thank you to those of you whom have sent good energies and prayers!!
As I had said, I have exhausted all of my sources here in town, and as for the freecycle, Nothing has been posted lately, but that was a good idea.
_witchball ,
Blessed be to all of you for caring enough to answer my request

Lori,
My heart and energies go out to you.
Is there a Pagan community where you live, that you can draw strength from?
Only Goddess knows why these trials are laid before us, but I wish you strength, prosperity and healing of soul. Brighter days are ahead.
((hugs)) and more (((hugs))) your way.
Love & Light, Kari
