After this EXTENDED  postponment let's discuss the intent and purpose of lesson #1 and how to use it.

This is firstly a Bardic lesson. In that vein, you created a story. You took a mere rock of the earth and fashioned a story around it.

Thinking back, did inspiration come easier when you concentrated or when you "let go" ? This will give you an idea as to your Inspiration Style. BOTH are equally acceptable, it just lets you know how to more easily access that part of your brain that governs your "creative juices".

Secondly this was an exercise in Reception. A good percentage of you said you "picked up something". The following is my personal theories & experiences and your results WILL vary. MW will in no way take responsibility Blah Blah...you know the drill . :D It's been said that the druids would listen to the rocks, the birds, the trees themselves and learn great things. THey were more "in tune" with the Earth. To be able to hear the Earth you must know the frequencies she "talks" with. By connecting with that little stone, you have connected with the frequency of the element Earth.

So what use is this to you?

When you are in need, ritual or prayer you will be able to call on this element at ITS level.

Too many belive we call the Elements to US. I've found that they respond much better when you go to THEIR level instead. The better you understand the thing you are working with, the better results you'll get.

So comments, questions?

Peace,
Twig

ps. Again, I'm sorry this took so long in coming but damnit, reality kept getting in the way.

...Hi Twig!

Just been reading about the lesson and all the responses. I have a black river stone I've been carrying around for months. I haven't actually tried listening to it actively, but I spend a lot of time just...well... fiddling with it, holding it in my hand, turning it over, and over.

I keep putting it down next to my kitchen hob, which is strange, because I keep my other crystals, stones and 'found things' somewhere else.

I'm deeply intrigued...

Yes, this is very true. That is how I learn from my herbs & plants. I talk to them, I listen, I feel with my hands the physical and I feel with my heart the spiritual. I let them tell me what they want to say. In applying this to my rock was very different. I have worked with stones & crystals before but I don't think I've listened to this level with them.
