I wasn't sure where to post this but I guess it fits here... nothing bad or sad to report...
My husband and I are possibly getting our first house! It's huge and old and needs paint and new carpet almost everywhere and I love love love it! I have always loved old houses and I am glad we've found one that hasn't been redone on the inside to make it sell at a higher price.
The guy who is selling it works with my husband and really really wants to sell to us instead of his brother who is looking at turning it into apartments and renting it. The price has even dropped 30,000 since it first went on the market! (well, 10 of it is the guy who's selling it said he'd drop it that far for US.)
Anyway, my husband went down and signed a purchase contract or whatever you call that... stipulating that we will buy it as long as the loan goes through... our credit isn't very good right now with me in college so his parents said they'd co sign.
Please send good energies our way! This is our 'dream' first house and it would be soooo nice not to have to pay the rent we pay in a college town when we can have a house for the same payment.
