Being Evicted

Just got notice today that we are being evicted. We had half of the money to give the land lord for his rent, and he refused it. I don' t know where we are going to go, or what we are going to do. Please, if you can spare some "find a new place to live" energies, it would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't been in your shoes, but I know it's hard to deal with. Why wouldn't your landlord take the money you have, and let you give them the rest when you could? It seems so unfair. Positive thoughts, and warm mushy feelings are being sent your way right now.

I don't know why he wouldn't take the money. We gave him 400 bucks last week. and was going to make up the rest next week.

I don't know about the eviction process in OH, but I know that here in MI, as long as he is paid up to date by the time of the eviction court date comes, he can't kick you out. Someone mentioned checking your local laws...on the State of Michigan website, you can access the law books and seach out particular information...I know we've had to go through it before, and really made our landlords look like real idiots for not knowing the law.
