As gray clouds darken all the skies,
and cold sinks into bones at night,
The Oak king falls frozen and dies,
The Holly king claims his birthright.
Now we attend to our homes,
And look deep inside our hearts,
While darkness shrouds the world,
As the length of winters starts.
And so do not allow yourself,
To grow despondent and depresed,
For how without this darkness,
Is spring's lightness expressed.
