An old tree spirit?

I was walking home with my friend, and my daughter went up to this tree in someone's yard, it was an aspen tree, and when I lwent to go get herr I saw in the tree the very large face an old man? With a long nose, long green beard and wide eyes, staring right at me. Has anyone else ever experienced this?

Yes!! We know a tree exactly like that!! I have a pic somewhere, if I find it I'll post it.
I plan to go spend some time with the tree, this fall.
I havent had a change this summer, I visited him this past spring.
Its a wonderful old, wise and very calming tree. :)

Actually yes I have - and it is something has been seen throughout times and does feature in many myths

I have experienced it not so much visually as in seeing a face in the tree, but more like interacting with the spirit of some very old, powerful, and charismatic trees. There's even one special tree who I bring people to sometimes so they can meet it. Good stuff.

That is awesome! Unfortunately I don't think the people thjere would be welcome to me visiting there tree. I wasn't afraiod of it, it was just amazing seeing him there. I was stoked! I didn't think i'd ever see something that awesome!

I've had it happen. Sadly I can't get back to that tree very often since she lives in my grandmothers lawn, all the way in Tennessee. This is an oak so I didn't really think of her as being female, until I was told point bank that she was not male.

I have always felt the spirits of trees. When I moved to the neighborhood that I am in now, I did some meditations recommended to me by a very wise druid and that allowed me to look at trees as if I was seeing them for the first time, and to communicate with them.
I noticed that if I can lose the proconception of a "tree" and observe trees as if I had never seen them before and do not know what a tree is, I see faces and other characteristics in many trees. Just to be clear, I was not 'looking' for faces or anything, that wasn't in my mind, really just trying to open myself up to communicationg with trees. Seeing the faces was an unexpected result of this opening up.
Now I notice the faces very often and have developed a relationship with the trees on my new property. Sometimes I can see the spirits, sometimes I just"feel" them or get thoughts and impressions from them, very powerful.
A small mountain ash next to our driveway was ill when I moved in, and I had no idea why, but when I sat with it and opened myself to him, he told me to remove 2 specific branches and now the problem seems to be gone.
I am glad that I am not the only one here at MW that can see and feel the power of the tree spirits.
