This meditation should be performed in a sitting position. Use whatever method of relaxation that you like.

Now that you are relaxed you notice that your head is covered with a 1000 petal lotus. You see a bright light at your feet….. The light begins to travel up your legs to a sleeping snake, whose name is Shakti-kundalini…… The light enters the snake and it awakens….. You feel the Shakti-kundalini begin to move upward…. It snakes and curls up through each chakra….. Notice yourself flood with the colors of each chakra as the snake penetrates each one……………(long pause here for the visualization). The snake reaches the crown chakra, and floods you with violet light and the knowledge that you are a spiritual being…… You are only in this body for a short time, but you are eternal!….. You feel your connection with your higher spirit……. You feel safe, loved and intelligent……
The Shakti-kundalini rises up through the 1000 petal lotus on your head, and connects with the universal energy. Feel the flow of that energy as it connects through the vortex of the chakra. It circulates through your body……. This is the material of enlightenment…. It is bliss….. Just sit and bask in this bliss, mmmmmmmmmm how wonderful it feels….. Just stay here as long as you can……….

Variety is always a good thing. :)

But does your snake change colors according to what chakra he/she is currently moving through? Makes for a very interesting garter snake.

She might, then again she might now. It will depend on how she is moving for you. I have had students whose snake was a garden variety snake that coiled around and pierced each chakra but did not change color. I have had students whose snake change to the color of the chakra it was piercing. I have had students whose snake started out red and each chakra it pierce added a circl of that color until it had all seven colors of the chakras. It will depend on how she is moving for you.

Namaste,
