Spirit Guides

Heylo!!

Could someone please recommend some techniques for finding your spirit guide? Can it only be done through meditation or are there any spells or other ways of "speeding up" the process? Perhaps some of your experiances would be good. Thanks every1 :D

I have a board sort of like an spirit board but its designed to contact your spirit guide.
I dont use it but lend it to my friends, i believe if they want to send the message across they have to do it on their own time, and some have had some good advice from it. I can't be sure though for i haven't done it myseld

If you call for one s/he will come in his/her own due time if you really need him/her. Ya can't rush stuff like that.

Well, I have had some 'channeled' for me, before... but although I did become aware of them, they were the sort that come & go, 'cuz eventually I became aware of my 'permanent' ones, realized they had been there right along, & have been since...

A Cherokee shaman told me some of my Animal Guides... once I became aware of those, I was able to 'find' the rest (just had to be shown where to look, I reckon...)

Do you know any trustworthy shamen, or channelers? Might be worth a shot...

Could a familiar be considered a spirit guide or vise versa? Are familiars more like low ranking demons? Are familiars only for witches? Imps?

Familiars, can be spirit or still living. But, any one can have a familiar. And Familiar are not demons, at least I don't believe so. I believe that there is a magickal bond between a familiar and the person. So, you can have spirit guides who just guide you, or ones that are personally bond to your magick would be a familiar. I would not call it a rank as so much as just trying to show how close they are to a person. It least this is the way I understand it.

Familiars aren't demons anymore then Witches worship Satan. The two beliefs actually kind of go hand in hand.

Familiars are spirits of animals or animals who are close companions and work magick with you. More then just pets, you "know" them, you might even be able to see through their eyes, and they lend their energy to your workings.

Imps are cartoon characters, basically.

I have a lot of conflicting ideas about this in some of the books I have. Just curious as to what other people believe.
I know I don't believe them to be evil. Familiars can help out alot.
