Are they the same thing and what exatly is the definition?
Can you be a witch/wicca/pagan and not do any spells or divinations?
Any good books, sites, or other resources on this?
I think I have asked before and sorry if I have.
p.s. sorry meant to post in New Pagan :bangyourh

A Christian Wiccan follows the Wiccan religion (well, that's debatable for anyone not Gardenarian Wiccan since Gardener created Wicca), and uses the Christian mythos (including concepts of the feminine Divine Sophia/Shekinah/Holy Spirit/the Marys, and the 4 main Archangels as Guardians). Like most Wiccans (I'm sure there's a few out there that will disagree with me on this), they don't necessarily accept Jesus as their personal saviour, but see him as a guide, a prophet, and as the earthly representative of the masculine aspect of the Divine (Mary Magdelene or Mother Mary being the earthly feminine). Many people that I have met on various boards who become Christian Wiccan come either from a Roman Catholic background or a Wiccan background. The saints tend to be regarded as spirits that can be called upon for various magical purposes, as are angels (though not to all Christian Wiccans).
A Christian witch is a far broader term, and is usually a Christian that uses witchcraft as a form of worship. In my case, I happen to use Wicca as a study point for how I practice witchcraft. I don't worship the masculine and the feminine Divine as three parts each like many Christian Wiccans do. I cast spells, I celebrate the cycle of the year (when depression doesn't put me in my own pathetic selfish little world), and I feel the energies I believe Godde put into everyting He/She created (I see the masculine and feminine as one Divine force, even if the two entities of the one force are distinguishable, like in the Apocrypha and Proverbs). Technically, a Christian Wiccan is also a Christian witch.
I've heard that you can be a witch, Wiccan, and/or pagan and not use magic or divination, though I don't know much about those who don't.

You have to use some kind of magic to be a witch. A witch is by deffinition a practitioner of witchcraft (which is the use of magic).
You can be Pagan, or Wiccan and not use magic.
You cannot be a Christian Wiccan (they are two different religions). But you can be Christian Witch (which ninja kitten has posted some nice information on above).

LadyCelt there are tons of threads about Christian-- wicca, paganism and witchcraft on MW... There are tons of opinions and info there for you to take in. A lot of questions you ask can be answered with a search in MW or at Yahoo or Google and reading a few pages--all you have to do is search and read.

I've notice it's a recent popular question :P
Perhaps someone should make a sticky listing all the Christian Witch/Christo Wicca posts. Though, people still might not read it before asking :P

A sticky might help...at least then people could direct those interested to the one thread with all the links instead of having to search and post tons seperately.
Good idea, fangedeshana :)
Now to get someone to make a sticky...

Actually, with the number of posts, questions, and self described "Christian witches/Wiccans" that we have on the board, it might be reasonable to have an entire sub-group devoted to the topic.

That does make sense, Dark Witch. What needs to be done for a sub-forum to be made? I think having it all centralized in one place would help...I mean someone looking for say "Christian Wicca" can brows the forum....then again they can also just search for it. Hummm....

I'm not sure, I guess a moderator or owner would have to create a space for it, like they have for "just pagan", "new pagans", etc. It would seem to centralize all those who feel that they are christian wiccans/witches. It just seems like there are dozens of threads about it, and half of the posts end up debating the existance of the subject....
Just a thought anyway...
