Even through all the crap I've been through, I always have had *something* to eat.... even if it's just Ramen Noodles..........
My cabinet and fridge are completely bare except for ketchup and water..........
Today I let go of my pride and ate a part of a bagel out of the garbage @ school..........................:ack:
I guess that's what I'll have to do for now. The soup kitchen and food bank are too far to drive because of gas, my failing brakes, and failing transmission.................................

Aww sweetheart , I'm so sorry to hear your going through such a difficult time :( I just lost my job myself and had to swallow my pride and move back in with my mother...im still moving things out. By any chance are you eligible for Social Security , Welfare Assistance and foodstamps? Do you have any friends and family to turn to?

I'm on SSI and since I have a car @ all I can't get foodstamps.... I'm aware of these things as my mother had me grow up "in the system"
Aww hunny, can't you ask any of your friends for help? :hugz:
It was always my friends asking me for $... one of my friends owes me $28 but says she doesn't have it.

Yes I even went to Mol and Semele...... never heard back:ugh: <-----(I worded this incorrectly and am VERY sorry. I would never say anything bad about Mol or Semele. I don't know where you are at, but keep ya head up. This too shall pass, believe me. If you're in school, it's hard, I know, and ramen noodles and easy mac were my best friend for a really long time. If the ramen get super boring, try different things with them, as there are A LOT of different ways of going about making them. If you can't afford certain things, look for cans! That's another thing we did in school, only we were looking for money to buy alcohol, so please don't buy alcohol if you can't eat. All I may do is send you tons of love, hugs, and energy for your troubles. I'm really sorry to hear all of this, but stay strong, you can do it!

I so know what your going through. SSI is a joke. Its totally unlivable to say the least!!
I know too that programs to help either suck, like you said, you have a car so no food stamps!! Or, they're gone!! So many programs have been taken away its terrible.
Hold your head up and do what you can. Rememeber your not alone!! A lot of people are on SSI and suffer the same fate!
Being on disability myself, I often feel the world just wants us to disappear because we are such burdens. But I am not disappearing and neither are you. We will do what it takes to be in their face till we have something we can live on!!
Heck federal SSI payments are like 584 per month and the state is free to give what they want to the checks..my state is cheap, only 94 dollars do they add! So my in my state you get a max of 678 per month!! What a joke. We dont have crap for rent assistance and food stamps, my friend gets like 60 something per month!! The cost at the store have gone through the roof!! And whats even worse..rents and co-pay for health care. You dont get enough to live on and yet you have to co-pay for health care when thats what you need cause your disabled!!
And hey forget about the laws reguarding companies not discriminating because or disability. One, they do, they just say your not qualified or someone is more quilified and when it comes to schooling to get new skills, well hey they took that out of the budget too!!
Oh my I went ranty!
Sorry hon...I think you know, I know how you feel.
Hang in there. Someday, hopefully we will all find away to make it better. ~hugs~

You wouldnt want to live here!!
In south central Wisconsin, Evansville, the average one bedroom rent is 450 bucks a month. Whats funny is our so called low income housing starts at 400 per month!! Low income housing my butt!! The poor here cant afford low income housing!! I dont even see how they can call it low income housing! And rent assistance here, only if you have small children and they give very little toward your rent. Single disabled cant get anything! Our heat assistance...you have to get to Beloit city, 50 miles away!! No public transit here so if you cant afford or find away to go there, you cant apply!! Doesnt matter how sick you are either! Plus they only help with one utility either heat or electric. So for someone like me where the heat is 113 and the electric is 100 per month you are still stuck with not enough help. Plus our energy assistance only pays a part of your one type of energy.
Our cost of living is crazy as hell!!
I have friends that work and still are broke as hell with our cost of living here. No you dont want to be here!

Can you ask someone for help? Let them know you need something to eat and have no money... I find people to be generally very hospitable and I'm sure someone will help you out. It's better than eating bagels out of the garbage... :hugz:
If I were in your situation I'd walk around and gather wild foods... there's tons of good edible stuff around, free for the taking, but if you don't know what's good, stick with easy stuff like dandelion. Lots of wild grapes this time of year too. I've been doing a lot of that lately for fun, and if you don't have anything else to eat, it's a good thing to know. And definitely better than a bagel someone threw out!

I feel like a jerk...i always complain that i live in a snobbish town and its when i hear things like these that i feel like a complete asshole.
If you have ANY family members call them and ask them for money. If they are any sort of family they will give it to you without question. Everyone has to eat!
Call your friends out on what you loaned them. You said that one of them owed you $28! Any food is good food regardless of price, you have to collect from them. There cant be a more desperate time than when you have no food.
Other than that, just keep your head high and tighten your belt, and try to live through these lean times. I feel like a jerk for all that ive been given...i hope this helps
May Anu bless you with lots and lots of food!

I agree about Mol and Semele. Things aren't the best for them anyway are they? They would never just cast you aside Lil, as Hymnia said they are probably busy and getting around to it.
:hearthear Lil, I am so sorry that you are going through this still. I really wish I could help you with this stuff, but I really cant right now. Things are real tough at my end of the world too unfortunately.
I think there are some good suggestions here. I see how a lot of them are not probable for you. I cant believe the way your social security system works over there, cause you have a car you cant get foodstamps, that is freaking ridiculous!!! Bastards.
I know this is not going to be a very welcome suggestion, but when people are in your circumstances over here in Oz, they have been known to turn to their local church where they will be given food stamps without too much hassle. Ahhhh, I can feel the evil eyes upon me, but you must eat my darling, anything is worht a try aye? :hrmm: But as I say, things seem to work very differently over there in the states, maybe that wont work for you.
There must be some kind of group that will help you with this.....a charity of some kind, do you have St Vincent De Pauls or the Salvation Army over there? An organisation like that would at least give you food stamps...or at least they will in my country.
I am so angry with the USA social security system!!! :G
I am so sorry for you honey. Things will work out darling. :rubhead: :bothsides
Do you have a counsellor at school that you can talk to? Maybe they can help in some way? Or a teacher?
How's your Mum BTW?

WOW.!!!..You get that much in SSI?..I get only 606.40 amonth, plus tapping into my SS for 316.00,and for my 2 kids get assitance and that puts us at 1,800 amonth..Plus get 278.00 in foodstamps for the kids..Rent in Pa here is cheap in places..The low income house program goes by your income..Hell some people pay 2-4 bucks amonth for rent there.i'm able to get in the program, due to my back surgery, but there are worse off people than I,and they need it more than me..I only pay 350.00 for rent of half house and thats cheap..my bills are based on income, gas is 41.00 no matter how much I use, electric is 30.00 an the same.phone with dsl is 73.00..I really feel for you Lil.Its getting bad everywhere.More people in this town I live abuse everything, and it affects the more needy people..I wish there was something I could do for you.Keep your head high hon, nobody thinks any less of you,and the one who do the hell with them, someday they mite be in need and understand how it feels...Hugssss to you,Its not much, but a hug helps ease things a bit..i'm so sorry for you, because you been through hell.i'm here if you need me,along with the rest of the family here on MW..

Off topic for a sec,
All parts of the dandelion are edible!
I am not aware of any part of a dandelion being toxic!
Roots can be fried or boiled and the leaves and flowers stir fried or raw!! Or what ever you want to try.
In my opinion though...dandelion takes getting used to. It taste nasty no matter when you harvest it or how you prepare it. The root is real nasty! The leaves less so and the flowers are just yuk! Its either less bitter or more bitter but no matter what....Its one bitter plant! :ack:
But thats my opinion! :)

Yeah, wash it well. And as for dandelion the flowers and leaves are good. I've seen recipes for the stems, but you might want to cook them first because I don't know if it's alright raw.
And something I didn't think about -- acorns. They're all over the place. They have a really bitter taste if you don't boil them, so I would suggest that!

True. You can eat tomatoes but not the leaves! I feel okay about mentioning dandelions because the whole plant is edible... and I didn't have time to post any more... but in general, yes, eat only what you know is safe, and even then, sample it first to make sure it sits well with you!

Sorry Lilith, I don't really understand the American SS system and I'm a bit shocked (to say the least!) that you could be in this situation. This may also sound naive; but are there no other institutions (private or public) within the education system that could help in some way? Especially since you are so close to the end of your studies..
Sorry I don't have paypal, but in hoping that someone who comes after me may be able to contribute anything financially to the completion of your education over the next few months I will repeat your account address;

I cant do much, but if you still need help I can send you food, I have tons of noodles...it's not the cup kind you get at typical grocery stores. It's the asian kind that comes in a package and seems to last a very, very, very long time. You gotta add water and heat it up in bowl like ramens though. My parents bought a whole box for me when i moved out, I've only managed to go through 3 packages. Just give me a PM, I have other stuff too. :) I dont have paypal but I can send you a few bucks by mail. I'm a college student, on my own and still jobless but I'm feeling lucky, the CVS pharmacy district manager called me back (I missed her, but she left a message and I know they're hiring somewhere). College students have to stick together, it's hard enough with school, you shouldnt have to worry about food too. You cant think on an empty stomach.

September 21st, 2005, 01:28 PM
The paypal address has been removed. That totally violates our policy of solicitation, Lillith...I'm sorry.
The HaM Was set up to help people during catastrophic events such as death, etc. When GR had her troubles I went against everything I had set up and sent out a request for donations. We didn't get that much and if we keep sending out donation requests the amount gets smaller and smaller until eventually no one is donating anymore. I realize I sound like a big jerk. I took that responsibility when we started the HaM program...I knew that at some point I was going to be looked upon as an asshole and I accept that.
The point is, the HaM is getting drier and drier. You need help, Lillith...but so does the HaM program. So, maybe we can do both. We need to restructure the HaM program in a big way. We have too many members all across the world for this to be just a donate-a-dollar-to-paypal type program. We could be helping people get food through real food drives. We could help with clothing...BABY CLOTHES?! Can you imagine?
The big problem is...I can't do it. I spend most of my MW work time answering emails, pm's working on the server, and trying to keep up with whats going on. With family, school, and everything else...I just don't have the time to do it. I also think it is going to take more than just 1 person to do it. So, I need some help. If anyone is interest in helping, please send me an email and lets talk. I know I can put some people together that can make this work.
Now, as for you, Lillith...I will open the HaM up...one last time until we restructure. After this we are going to close it down until we can figure out where to go next. We can do MORE for more people...I know it. I just don't know how. I am a computer geek. :hugz:
I am sorry it has taken so long, Lillith...but I was trying to figure out what to do.

FWIW mol, I don't think anyone thinks you are an asshole. You are one of the most honest, caring people I know.
I know there must be members of MW who have experience with this kind of stuff. I hope they will come forward. Unfortunately, all I can donate is grunt work, as I too, have no expertise.
LM, maybe you can fill us in on some of the things you have tried, but that haven't worked so that we can get a reference point.

Lillith, after watching the first 30days show a long while back I realized that there really are some very very caring churches out there who will help provide you with necessities. Don't be afraid to ask if you want to because I think Az had a nice idea. I know of some who do all sorts of things for people. They can even deliver the things to you too. I worked with someone whose church paid for a used car for her because hers broke down. Or try calling all your local grocery stores and see if they have food that they are going to get rid of because they can't keep it on the shelves because of the expiration date or even if they've been doing food drives and could spare you some. I'm sure if you gave proof of your ssi they'd help.
Also, try calling the Salvation Army and telling them about your situation, I'm wondering if they can help you.
As others have said, you could ask if people need things done like dog walking, house sitting, baby sitting, mowing lawns, delivering things for them. I'd find a teacher I trusted and ask him or her if they have things like that some odd jobs you could do for a little money for food. You'd be surprised at how some teachers would help, especially university teachers who make more money than just highschool or elementary teachers do.
I'm sorry that you aren't getting the help you need. I really hope it gets better for you.
Blessings to you.

Subscriptions go to pay for the upkeep of the site, which is considerable on a site of this size.
No need to apologize, dear and everyone at MW welcomes the help :)

Lilith, is there a grocery co-op nearby? If so, these places usually take on volunteers to put in a couple hours here and there. And there is usually free food there due to produce that isn't quite presentable or items that have recently expired, but are still 100% good. I was one of the managers of a co-op for a year. I often left with bagfulls of free food, so much that I'd give away a lot of it to friends and homeless folks. Some of these stores, like most regular grocery stores, give the excess to organizations that feed people, but some skip that process and give it to whoever is there in the store to take it. It's worth a try. Good luck.

LadyCelt, I'll bet you're thinking of a group called Catholic Charities. They help a lot of people regardless of the person's religion. They once helped a friend of mine buy a house and she's quite openly pagan. Good group, so far as I know.

If you are in school, go talk to a student counselor. There are probably resources set up on your campus, if not, they can probably direct you to someone. Or try a womens shelter, or a church, any church. Try a Catholic church first, a lot of them have food programs, or even try a Mormon church. I am not LDS but live in Utah and have heard of a thing the Mormons do called 'Church Welfare'. They have storehouses of food. It's worth a shot. In fact, since you are going to school, ask some of the campus religous groups if they know where you could get some help. I bet they would be glad to give you advice, and a ride if need be.

At my university we have a program where students can anonymously request food pakages and are given a key to a locker with food in it. Maybe your campus has something similar?

It is odd that the state you are in disqualifies you if you have a car. I know in California, Utah and Pennsylvania you can have one car but it can't be worth a lot of money. I would call the churches in the area. They may be able to help you even without being a member.

Hey,why not ask a church?Call them up and tell them you are not a christian, but need a little food.
Ask them if they could send you a little,Ill bet they will help. I would. [QUOTE]
That's a good idea: it's Harvest Festival (in Europe at least) on Sunday, and over here every church in the country gives out free food.
Failing that, buy bread - lots of bread. It's the cheapest way to buy bulk, energy giving food, and while not particularly good for you or nice, it will keep you alive and reasonably full.
Baked beans and other tinned foods are a good idea too. I know they're often horrid - I lived on them for a while, but they'll get you by.

I don't know what its like to be going through this...but I do know what its like to be on welfare. I'm thankful that I do have a roof over my head (because I still live at home with my parents) because my payments from Austudy wouldn't even cover living costs (and I don't have a license or car, which I am going to fix soon but I'm worried about petrol costs and stuff). Where I come from, we have that sort of problem with the Salvation Army and Vinnie's. They tend to be more community orientated here.
Anyway, :hugz: I don't think there is a lot I can do but I'll light a candle and give a ritual for you. Maybe I can send some non-degradable food to you, but somehow I don't think Australian post will let me. Money is scarce here and the changing rate is high so I don't know if I can send anything. But I will send a lot of energy and prayers.

MM ~ Been there, done that, got the t-shirt, wore it well, wore it out, went back and got another one. And I work. They just don't pay us a living wage anymore and the social contracts are belly up. "Faith Based Initiative" means you can hit the local Catholic church once a month and they will give you some canned green beans and store-brand macaroni and cheese. Enough to last maybe two days.
Until such time as everyone quits being so docile and a lot of us stand up and demand our rights (I can't do it alone) it will stay this way.
So, some guidance. Not all of it 100% legal but once you have exhaused every other avenue it's not your fault anymore IMHO. There is enough money in this country that nobody should starve. Anyway, here goes:
Drain the water off the ramen noodles and use butter or margarine with the seasonings. It fills you up better.
Google yourself a good frybread recipe. The US government has been starving the Native Americans for years and they have learned to make good stuff cheaply. Commodity pie, all that.
I don't know if this still works, but you used to be able to order a pizza under a fake name and just not pick it up. There's some kind of law that they can't keep or donate this stuff and they have to put it in the dumpster - yuck - but it's still in the box. I think McDonald's does the same thing when they close.
Go in the supermarket with a little money and eat some cheese or something while you are there. If anyone says anything just say you were going to pay for it.
In a more rural environment it is harder to do any of this but on the other hand, other people are also trying to keep body and soul together and they are poaching deer, setting out illegal trot lines and stealing corn out of the fields at night. Befriend them, they know how things are and they are not stingy.

Oh, I'm so sorry! Not even ramen? I'm sure you could try to call the food drive place, if you could get their phone number, and tell them you can't get over there. They might send you something. It's worth a try. I'm sure you could use someone's phone if you don't have a phone service... try not to sink into depression, if you haven't already, because that will just drain you of the energy do something about it. If you live on campus, tell a teacher. Tell somebody who you know can help you; you can find help in all sorts of places.

I find the situation odd, living on campus myself. My internet is tied to my housing bill so I can't give it up. I understand that. However my college REQUIRES me to have a "Meal Plan" if I'm living in the dorms. The only places that don't require it are the apartment style houses, but then your living with 3 other people. If your in that situaton, I'd move into the dorm style and take on the meal plan since (for my college at least) the two are a balance price. ($1000 extra for aparment style -meal plan, $1000 less for dorm +$1000 meal plan)
You can also usually use your financial aid to pay for some form of meal plan. Also, most colleges have work/study programs to where you can get your work done and earn money at the same time.

Do you have a "Meals on Wheels" program there? I would look into that to see if they can help you out. I would also call the Salvation Army - you can't beat the Sally Ann - they will help anyone, anywhere, anytime. They also have a program called Home Safe and they will pay one major bill, one time only - rent, hydro maybe they could help with car repairs. The Red Cross can help out with some things too - like gas coupons, grocery vouchers. Don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it. You have to eat or you can't study. I know our local food bank will deliver - it is worth the call to see if the one in your area can help you in this way. There are better days ahead.

Do you have time for a part-time job? I currently work at SubWay and we get free meals. It's just a 6 inch sandwich, and occasionally a bag of chips/a cookie or something if your manager is nice. But the people I work with don't eat the whole shift and then make a foot long sub before they leave. They've worked there for ages and have always done it and haven't gotten into trouble yet
I hope things get better soon and you find some options that will work, I can't imagine why nothing has been done for you yet!

This might work, but the management at fast food places will run you off or call the cops. Also, when I worked in pizza delivery, we usually ate the fake orders ourselves - many of us were using that as our main source of food for the day. But I spent many months getting my main meal of the day from working in food service, so if it's an option for you it's worth a shot. The school cafeteria is an option too.
Go in the supermarket with a little money and eat some cheese or something while you are there. If anyone says anything just say you were going to pay for it.
Another idea - if you have a Sam's or Costco near you, you can usually find people in the aisles giving out free samples of food. Walk through the store a couple of times and eat whatever samples they have, as many times as you can. It's legal and beats the hell out of going hungry.
Or try a few bars during happy hour where they have free food. If they tell you you have to buy a drink, get a cheap soda or coffee with cream and sugar (calories). If it has to be alcohol, try another place - that's too expensive.

There is this notion people have that they help a lot and if you are having problems go to them but they are actually pretty useless, especially considering all the cash donations they collect, and the sale of donated goods in their stores. They are also known for making people coming to them for a meal attend "chapel" first.
The Red Cross can help out with some things too - like gas coupons, grocery vouchers. Don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it. You have to eat or you can't study. Don't count on them, if you are not a victim of fire or flood they really don't give a rat's patootie if you eat or not.
I know our local food bank will deliver - it is worth the call to see if the one in your area can help you in this way. There are better days ahead. The better charities usually are the local ones. I agree, if you keep bugging them someone should bring you something. This is, however, a short-term fix and they won't keep doing it. You need a second income.
I know I recommended petty thievery earlier and I'm surprised I haven't gotten smacked but I stand by that, when your only options are steal, starve or prostitute, stealing's the way to go. This too is short term so let's work on figuring out how you can bring in some cash, rather than recommending useless charities that suck everybody dry and give little or nothing back.

But I spent many months getting my main meal of the day from working in food service, so if it's an option for you it's worth a shot. The school cafeteria is an option too. MM ~ We used to call and order several right before closing time, then wait in the shadows and watch the guy throw them out when he was closing. Once he went home - chowtime!
And yes, when you work around food, you get food, one way or another. Some places will even let you get a free or half price meal if you work there.
Another idea - if you have a Sam's or Costco near you, you can usually find people in the aisles giving out free samples of food. Walk through the store a couple of times and eat whatever samples they have, as many times as you can. It's legal and beats the hell out of going hungry. I went to Sams once just to see what people were talking about and they ran me off because I didn't have a Sam's card! Needless to say I haven't been back, it was very insulting. But be warned, you can only go to Sam's with a card.
Or try a few bars during happy hour where they have free food. If they tell you you have to buy a drink, get a cheap soda or coffee with cream and sugar (calories). If it has to be alcohol, try another place - that's too expensive. You will have men buying you drinks. You will want to fill up on beer or whatever, but that is obviously not a good idea.
These guys will spend big money pouring alcohol into a woman all night but trying to get them to buy food, even a bag of chips, is like pulling teeth. They want you drunk and passed out. They are trying to extort sex, pure and simple. Also if it becomes known that you are in dire straits among this crowd, you will have nasty old weirdos stalking you up and down town thinking they can get oral sex for a cheeseburger. Stay out of the bars.

Lilith, do you have a Dillons in your area? And what else are you needing? I have a ton of clothing that I was going to donate to the Salvation Army, but if you also need clothes, I can send them to you. Where are you located, and what else are you needing? If you were in KS, I could help you out a lot easier, especially if you were in Wichita :)

Hi. I don't know where you are exactly so I'm giving you as much info as I have. I'd go ahead and check with the food stamps office anyhow if you haven't already done so. A lot of states have been revising their standards because of cost of living and other such things going up. Having a car may not affect you as much as you think.
Check out the list of pagan organizations on this site to see if there is one near you that will be able to help you out. http://www.circlesanctuary.org/liberty/pagancharitywork.html (http://www.circlesanctuary.org/liberty/pagancharitywork.html)
Some of them might even be able to deliver the food and such to you.
You can also check with Goddess Moon Circles Helping and Warming program to see if there is a representative near you. While the focus is on getting clothes and blankets to those who need them we also help to provide food and other items to those in need.
http://www.goddessmoon.org/programs/helping.shtml (http://www.goddessmoon.org/programs/helping.shtml)
Check here for resources that may not be listed other places.
http://www.paganaidalliance.org/ (http://www.paganaidalliance.org/)
You might also check to see if there are any of the larger pagan churches such as Covenant of the Goddess or Aquarian Tabernacle Church in your area (check here and Witchvox.com) Some of these churches are able to provide for those in need. If there is a Unitarian Universalist church in the area they may be able to help as well.
If you would like to email me about possible help more specific to your area (assuming you can't find it in one of these links...) feel free to do so. You can email me at Bridgidshearth@ev1.net
Melinda
You can also check with America's Second Harvest http://www.secondharvest.org/ (http://www.secondharvest.org/)
Also, Freecycle.org does not handle food but can possibly help with other needed items.
Many people have had problems with some of the "bigger" and better known organizations, but don't always know about the smaller groups that may be able to help them out.

In the US if you are not active military, a victem of a crime or a disaster such as fire flood or earthquake the red cross isn't going to be able to do more than recommend other resourses. Salvation army usually has a food pantry that will help with some foods make sure you have proof of income and proof of bills. They will need that to help you. The Mormon church is less helpfull out of Utah than in Utah but will sometimes help anyway it is hit and miss and depends on the bishop. I would take the local phone book and start at the first church and keep going. Baptist churches are usually very helpful but will often ask you to attend their church for them to continue to assist you. I have swallowed my pride and sat in their house of worship to feed my family in the past. They helped us get on our feet in California when we were living day to day in a hotel. They paid for two weeks of the hotel so that I could get a real job to pay for my own hotel room. They also put presents under a christmas tree they supplied for my kids. Cathlic Charities doesn't care what religion you are to help you and are all over the place. Call the grocery stores and ask which church or organization they donate the bread to. Then call that organization and ask for help. When you call the local churches ask if there is any small jobs you can do for money and explain your situation. They may be able to help locate some part time things you can do under the table so they don't affect your SSI. If there are any farmers markets in your area talk to some of the farmers and ask if you can have food in exchange for working to help load or unload or clean up the stall they use. Check through some of these links and see if you can barter service for food. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=barter+and+trade (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=barter+and+trade)

No! Dont think like that! You are in a very desperate and unfair situation its true! If you have exhausted every single possibility you can think of of obtaining food, homeless shelters and other charitable places will offer food. Its one of the most basic needs that every human needs. You have to be able to eat by ANY means, even if it means stealing food. It might sound wrong, but i believe that food is something that cannot and should not be denied to someone just because of hard times. Ask everyone and anyone you can, but if people will not give you the nourishment you need you have a right to steal it. This does not make you a bad person, but one whos needs are being overlooked and THAT is a terrible thing.
(hug) we are all here to support you, but i wish i could be sending you food instead of words on a screen.

I'm glad some one/people are sending you food and/or money. If I could I would, I honestly with out a doubt would in a heart beat....But my parents don't know that I've rejected both of their religion(s) and have found my own. They would never support it, and would DEFINATELY never let me mail someone that I don't know in person, even in a situation like this.
I wish I could do something more than feel bad for you and keep you in my mind, asking Goddess to help you...
I'm completely against stealing, but in a case like this, sometimes you have no other alternative. The only problem is: if/when you get caught, you'll be in trouble. Regardless of fact you're starving. I don't care what anyone says/does/thinks, the United States isn't that wonderful of a place. Not if you seek help when you need it the most and get nothing.
I'm so terribly sorry. I pray that things get much, MUCH better soon. Until then, try to keep your strength and spirits up.
