"That seventh I know, if o'er sleepers' heads
I behold a hall on fire:
however bright the blaze I can beat it down-
that mighty spell I can speak."
Havamal 152:1-4
Runecharm #7 deals with putting out a fire in a blazing hall (I wish I'd known this charm back when I was a volunteer fireman :D ). The practical application of this working would be to carve this charm into wood, or make it from one of the clay-type substances (such as Sculpy), or to paint or draw it onto paper or cloth, & place it in your home to help prevent a fire (I wouldn't wait 'til the house is engulfed in flames, & then carve it onto a candle, hoping to extinguish the fire!). You could even place each Rune in the charm individually in the appropriate direction in your home (thereby making your entire home a large Runecharm). However, using the candle method on a regular basis (I'd recommend monthly at New Moon) would probably be effective (just don't forget a month).
Using this charm on a candle would also be effective in removing the 'heat' from a situation. For a candle working, use a gray or white votive.
Cast your circle & invoke the Northern Gods (see Practical Rune Magic I in this forum), especially invoking Heimdal, the Disir (Ancestresses), & Frigga, Goddess of Home & Hearth. Using 'north is up', as on a map, carve or paint a Hagalaz Rune to the east, a Nauthiz Rune to the south, a Laguz to the west, & an Isa to the north. Speak/sing/chant the name of each Rune as you carve it. If you're making a candle, make & burn it during the New Moon. If you're making a wood or clay etc. charm, place the charm over the main entrance to your dwelling.
OK, here's how it works... Hagalaz is the 'anchor' Rune here; it's the Rune traditionally associated with this Rune poem. Hagalaz represents hail, sleet, snow, thunderstorm, etc. Hagalaz acts to control the 'chaotic' nature of fire. Nauthiz is the Rune of the Need-Fire, the cold fire. It acts as a restraining agent. Laguz represents water (pretty self explanatory, I think). Isa literally means "ice", which is the polar opposite of fire. Each of these , separately, produce a 'dampening' effect. Together, that effect is amplified.
