Kokopelli
Kokopelli, the humpbacked flute player appears in many of the ancient legends of the Native Americans. His image can be found in petroglyphs carved upon canyon walls and desert rocks. A symbol of abundance and fertility, he carried the seeds of plants and flowers in the hump of his back.

Mischievous and good hearted Kokopelli is probably best known for the music he played upon his flute. His songs were said to bring warmth and life to both the people and the land. Listen carefully and perhaps you too can hear the merry sounds of Kokopelli’s magic flute.

Kokopelli was known to be a healer, teacher, storyteller, trickster, magician and master of fertility. As he traveled around the Southwest he would spread good news and happiness to all living things.

May Kokopelli enchant you and bring you good fortune

She Who Remembers is a wonderful novel set in tribes many years ago where Kokopelli was a mythical demiGod who travelled from place to place trading, sharing wealth, and sowing his seed that was said to bring wonderful fertility to whereve it was sown. Pick it up at your bookstore, it's a great read :)
