Ok, here's the situation:
My ex-boyfriend, Cameron, the abusive one, has been living off a disability pension for 5 years, because he was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome. However, when I was going out with him, it was obvious that he didn't really have CFS at all - he was perfectly capable of doing whatever he put his mind to, he just used CFS to avoid doing things he didn't want to do. I now know, through research, that Cameron almost certainly has a Narcissistic Personality Disorder, the psychological symptoms of which can create physical symptoms similar to those that Cameron uses to convince his doctor that he still needs the pension.
However, this year, Cameron has taken up ballroom dancing, at the same studio where 4 of my cousins go. He dances constantly for 3 hours, after which he looks exhilarated rather than exhausted. This goes to show that he is neither ashamed of misleading the authorities nor afraid of getting caught, both of which are personality disorder symptoms.
If you were me, would you tell the authorities that Cameron is defrauding the system? Would you consider it your responsibility as an honest citizen to stop someone who was essentially stealing from taxpayers to fund his lifestyle of leisure?
So . . . help? What should I do?

Well...
If you were to turn him in, I'd take pics of him dancing or have a cousin take pics of him dancing.

If he's abusive, I wouldn't act at all. There may be recourse.

Who says he has to find out it's her that made the report?? Especially if there's a history of violence involved, those reports should be confidential.
Document and report!

He's abusive, he found a loop hole in the system... leave it at that, what he puts out into the universe will come back to him 10 fold!!!! Or more...

Why would you butt into someone else’s business like that. Why would you turn him in, revenge because he is and Ex…to hurt him.
You are not in a position to decide if he is worthy of the founds or not, you are not qualified or have the privilege of overseeing his case.
Mind your own business.

"Tax payer dollars funding his life of leisure."
If that is the case, especially if he really is a liar, that should make it her business and all other tax paying citizens business really. I personally don't like funding sloths

We don’t know any facts.
Just because someone is receiving benefits for some condition doesn’t mean they have to actively suffer from it do they? He might be on a med or in a therapy that is getting results. Maybe a physical therapy ...like dancing? The system may or may not know his current improved condition. I bet there is a review every year it’s that board of people that can make the choice. Blame them for your tax dollars use or abuse.
I stick with my “none of your business” comment.

in order to claim disability for things such as cfs you have to undergo regular checks to make sure you still qualify for benefits.... just because someone may not appear sick on the surface doesn't mean that they aren't sick.. my best friend and her sister both have cfs and there are times when they feel completely fine and other times where they can barely get out of bed to shower and eat.. its a tricky one.. i don't know the facts on this one.. he could well be faking it but thats for his dr to decide i cant help but feel this is motivated a bit by revenge and i cant say that i blame you but its one i think you should leave be..
I've been sick for 8 years (not cfs btw) 5 dr's have diagnosed me with the same thing (none of which knew the diagnosis from the others) and yet i still have family members say that there is nothing wrong with me and that I am faking it ..especially since i am currently on meds that mask my fatigue.. sometimes if you are sick and you want any kind of enjoyment and any kind of quality of life you have to push through the pain/fatigue etc and just do what you want to do or nothing gets done at all.. it would be so easy for me to stay in bed and sleep my life away but what good would that do, what kind of life would that be..
I think (as a general comment) that for some people they are alot worse health wise then they let on because they don't want pity and they want to live with as much normality as they can have under the circumstances..
i know there are those who fake it which makes it hard for those of us who are really sick but they pay for it in the end one way or another.. i wouldn't put yourself at risk of him retaliating by reporting him.. also he may have been advised by his dr to try something he enjoys when hes feeling ok in order to try and combat the depression that comes with cfs which could be why he appears pumped up instead of exhausted after it.. he may well collapse in a heap once he gets home..
unless your a dr health issues are a very hard call and should be left to the trained professionals..

Windigo,
Who else besides you knows of his fraud? Get someone to turn him in that knows of his cheating the system - someone who is not afraid of his sorry ass.

Yeah, I'd let it be known by the authorities. But then again that is just me. People like that is what screw over the rest of us that have actual problems. That is why it took me a year to get my knee looked at and finaly diagnosed and (somewhat) taken care of.

I still think someone should do something, don't believe in karma. But I do believe in fraud and vengeance.

Well, I'd suggest either turning him in or slowly torturing him to death. Your choice.

Is there a tip line you can call without identifying yourself? Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is a tricky illness, but that's up to the disabilty Dr's to determine. There are alot of good actors out there and alot of people who deserve disability asisstance that can't seem to get it.
