' Natural Drugs '

Ive been thinking lately, about natural drugs.
Some of my friends, who know/or have taken Shrooms and Salvia, or have gone identifying and picking Pscideolye Mushrooms, were talking in class, about stuff.
Basically, one was saying that Salvia, Magical Mushrooms, and other 'Natural Drugs' are just things that mess up your brain, and make you see things, that are just from your imagination. A few other friends were talking, about how, they read stories about Salvia and Shrooms, and how it is actually deeply spiritual...?
Like, I was reading a story, about how this girl was smoking some Salvia 1X (its Legal), and that she went outside to ly down, and she noticed things she never noticed before. She saw details on leaves, and ant hills and animals she never noticed before, and she felt deeply connected to Mother Nature.
And then, my friends were talking about how, when they ate some Pscidoleye Mushrooms, they saw things, like... white blobs ("spirits") near Graveyards, and "little green men" all around. :lol:
I told them, that it must be their imagination, that when they went to the graveyards, they thought of spirits, so spirits, in their mind, were shown. But they say, that, no... some natural drugs just elevate/change your brain stance, so that you can see different realms/and things. I somewhat doubt it, but you never know. What are your thoughts on this?

I know some cultures use plants to achieve different states of awareness. Some use them to open our mind to precieving more then we can normally see. I know(back in the day) when I took the drug E I could clearly see auras with colours, around many people who could see them too. When I used to take mush I would sometimes see patterns and symbols on people, I've read the Indians would tatoo these symbols on their bodies. Thats further than I'd go. But I do know that the scientists who discoved LSD found that it produced serotonin and aided in astral projection. Many other psychedelics do this same funtion(jimson weed, peote, salvia). I know that serotonin has been called the 'psychic hormone' and is associated with the producion of melatonin in the third eye(pineal gland). These chemicals are used in visualization and hallucinations.
