Hello!
I am doing a documentry on Wicca and how it has changed over time. I want to dispell any misconseptions about the Craft and show the truth. I am new to Wicca and I do not know as much as I would like to know yet. I am reading and reading and reading about Wicca so that I can make the film as informitive and accurate as posible. But because I am so new to Wicca, I need your help. I can use any and every bit of information that you can give me. I would love stories of your own experances. Quotes and any thing you feel should be included in the film. Please spesify when you write if you mind if the info. you give shows up in my film. Last year, I went to State competion for highschool students, this year I hope to go to Nationals. I want to do this film because it is one of the only ways that i can openly talk about Wicca beliefs to my friends and I also want to do it because I would like to see Wicca's and all Pagans free of the misconseptions about our religons. Anything you can do to help would be wounderful. THANK YOU and BLESSINGS BE!

One thing to keep in mind is that you might wish to focus on Pagans in general, not just Wiccans.

There was a 3-part doumentary done back in I think the early 90's by a Canadian filmmaker. Gods, what was it called? Well, it covered ancient pagaism, the Burning Times, and modern Witchcraft/Paganism. Not saying you shouldn't do your project, but you may want to look into checking out how this one filmmaker handled the subject. I recall watching the whole series on PBS. I think they'd carry the tapes at the Discovery Store or something. ANyone else remember these?

Well, one thing I've learned.... not all Wiccans and not all Pagans have the exact same beliefs. What one witch thinks is right, another might think is wrong. To me, it's a very personal thing. I take careful consideration with anything I involve in my practice... I read lots of books, but don't necesarily use all of the information. I talk to lots of witches and sometimes completely disagree with their views.

One thing that I thought was awesome.. someone posted here it here awhile ago, but here's a link.... http://www.thetoplinks.com/craftchristvswicca.htm

Maybe you could use that in your film.. just make sure you get the authors permission... there's a link on the site to email them. :)

Let us know when it's done and if it's possible to watch it, cause I sure would like to see it. :)

LunaMoth,
was that called "The Goddess Remembered"?
i know that was the name of part one. i managed to record part 2 (The Burning Times) and part 3 (Full Circle). it was quite good, with music by Loreena McKennitt.

Hey, good call on this one, Greenman! I was just about to mention these!

This trilogy of 1-hour films, known as the "Women and Spirituality Trilogy," was created with the help of the National Film Board of Canada (NFB). Their web site is located at http://www.nfb.ca/ If you are interested in ordering the videos, you can order them through the NFB web site at http://www.nfb.ca/nfbstore/ (You can specify whether you are looking for Home Videos or Institutional films - maybe you can order them for your school since it is for a high school project! - and your geographic location.)

Also, I've seen these documentaries on PBS in the States - maybe you can call up your local station and ask if there are any future plans to show these again. I find they tend to show these films during fund-raising drives.

Hope that helps! Good luck with your documentary, Heartfire. :D
